it might be April fools but its a good idea and a long time coming, it could mean more girls playing which would be fun,also some ppl could say its sexist not to have a female version of every thing but if its true that would be gd for the female =(e)='s like anne who is the girl =(e)= iv meet

Personally, I don't like the idea. In other games I've played, when you play as a girl, so many stupid guys start hitting on you and it gets really annoying. Although, that does make killing them all the more satisfying. 
Think about it, would it really make the game any better?

i like the idea of being able to choose a female character.
being a girl, i find it somewhat demeaning that ALL of the characters are guys! i mean, come on-girls are awesome! i'm getting better with each game i play, and i give all props to HoosTrax-she has some MAD snipe skillz!

It is funny, though, to watch guys hitting on guys they think are girls because of their names or player models. That stuff cracks me up.

I think that there's certain classes that would work better than others. I could certainly see a girl spy or a girl scout. Could you imagine if a girl spy could put on some perfume or something and distract the men 
A girl heavy could easily be like Helga from American Gladiators. But I can't really make out a difference on how a girl vs. a guy pryo would really look any different unless they made the chest a prominent issue but...come on right?

come on guys.. you know they can't design girl classes without the big guns.. and no... I am not actually talking about the guns.. they always seem to make them look either too much like bimbos or too butch.. i wouldnt mind sporting a girl skin, but as long as their good looking and I don't mind advertising I am a girl, cos if they don't know they sure do when I am playing cos I use the mic a lot and I for one am proud to be one of the girls, why hang in the shadows, get out there and have some fun !

Which is my point. That is more offensive to me than not having any girl characters. I'm proud to be a girl, and I'm not trying to hide it at all. In real life, I'm actually very girly and would totally try (not that I actually would, but I'd try ) to rock an awesome hot sniper or demogirl for Halloween, but that would mostly be for effect.
But, if I were truly a girl soldier, I would not have my girly soldier bits hanging out the top of my way too tight jacket. Nor would I as pyro, be wearing anything tight enough to even show that I'm a chick. I don't think a girl engi would dress any different than the engi does now. I do think there are some classes that could totally get away with having an uber sexy chick, like the spy and possibly the medic. And the scout could definantly be a cute little runner. If they did make girl skins and made them somewhat realistic to the actual profession, I would be all about it.
Please forgive me, I know I'm totally overthinking it and I'm obviously still kinda bitter about past gaming experiences. I like TF2 because sex is not brought into the equation. But, I do have to admit, in the boys vs. girls scrim, it really would have been totally righteous to see a whole team of super hot chicks killin' dudes. And nothing wrong with a little more chick solidarity.
Not that any of this is even really going to happen, but if they actually did do super hot girl skins, I would demand an upgrade to some of the guy skins. Get that big heavy jacket off that soldier and let us see those wicked arms under there. And the engi should NOT be wearing a shirt. I'm pretty sure he's got some super ripped abs from all the building and crouching he does all day. Hot, nerdy guys FTW!

as far as being busty-yeah anime and the like tends to get the girls ALL wrong! so barbie-like that, if they could come to life, couldn't even support themselves upright!

I'm with you there. One of the things I like about the internet is that I can surf quietly and nobody has to hear the sound of my voice croaking away in the darkness. (Wow, that's quite a mental image!) Plus, I feel odd having one-sided conversations with my computer while in the presence of other people at home.

As long as the hitboxes are the same, female skins would be fine with me. Generally speaking, female characters are smaller than their male counterparts, and once people figured that out, everyone would play the female skins just on principal.
That being said.... PurpleNurple, Snakely, don't be afraid to use your mic! It really does help get yourself into the game, and it's more fun to play that way! And besides... it's much more fun to rib Captain Mental via voice than in typing... he can't ignore the voice!
