Post your thoughts what could I or the team could have done different.

You know,

I really don't have a critic as much as I do an observation that I would hope people would tune in to. I don't believe this team was any better than us in the skill category. Like anyone, they had the exceptional player or two, but all in all they were fairly even with us as a whole. I think the difference was that they had a well thought out plan and stuck to it. This squad go here and that squad go there and they did that and only that. I will say, if you notice, towards the end of the rounds they too lost their discipline and got out of position and those were the moments we were able to capitalize on. It just shows our inexperience in terms of playing together in this type of setting. Like anyone else, we just need practice. And not necessarily like a drill team in an empty server, but as a team against another team in a think-on-your-feet environment. It helps to be familiar with the players in your squads so you know how to act and react successfully. All in all, it was a good first showing in my opinion. I was impressed with out comms discipline for 75% of the match. Maybe we set up a weekly or bi-weekly inner-squad match with random maps where we picks teams during our in-between time of playing against other clans. Those are my 2 cents at least. Definitely enjoyed this and look forward to the next!

For as little as we practiced we did fairly well for a community that doesn't really do a lot of scrims. Next time some more leadup and strategizing would be nice. Also, I think their server had issues, because I was having major shot registration problems throughout the match. I am curious to how we would have done if we played on our server. I would like to do some more matches in the future especially if we get a little more serious about strategy and possibly formal signups and squad assignments a decent amount before the match. That way e can know who is playing and those players can know their roles and assignments. Still it was fun.

Yeah I agree, with both of your guys statements. I will organize some sort of inter-clan matches matches so we can get some sort of cohesive team work going on and maybe some boot camp scenario where we learn to defend/attack flags. I notice couple of times people weren't actively pushing to flag zone instead hovering around the flagzone.

I thought it went well too. All in all I think we did pretty good. I really appreciated and actually got to use some of the place names we went over. I too agree that I think we need to practice as team together more. Its like boxers say, "its all a great well thought out plan until you get hit by that first punch, and then its all just survival". We had some good basics and ideas but when it came time to react and put into action we just survived ... alot. Thanks for organizing it, we needed something like this!

I agree with everyone else, we did well considering we are all used to BSing in TS and run and gun lone wolf play. We need to start up a weekly (daily?) "practice" where we learn how to move as a team and not just go our own ways, like what happened during our match. Set a plan and stick to it as best we can since like Surprise said "all plans are good until the first shot fired".

For one thing, I could have not downloaded that nvidia driver that screwed up my pc, for another thing, I could have cleaned my pc more so that I didn't have a pc killing catastrophe.... Geez guys, I didn't know a machine could just bite the dust so hard... I'm having to use a walmart laptop at this point... Almost done fixing my gaming rig though, Alex taught me how to clean it, I'm just really lazy and have been caught up forging a new kitchen knife and a pair of flat bit tongs...

To much bitching about things that could not be helped, hit registration, lag, ect. and not enough following plans/orders of squad leaders. Several times when we had two points and began to drain tickets we would have over half our people run off to engage outside the cap zone, or try to take the third flag, splitting our team up and letting UB slip in the seam and wipe out the smaller groups piece meal, retaking the flags and putting us back to the beginning and then those that had left and allowed the situation to occur would yell bullshit how could they do that, it couldn't be our fault. So when/if we were able to recapture a second flag again they could run off without having to feel like they were not only not following the game plan/squad leaders orders, but that they were justified by getting their personal kills up instead of working for the good of the team. Their team was not better than ours, their team was a team.

Yeah, I did notice those. No offense to anyone here, but the bottom line it comes to lack of experience. I don't think many who played the match are exposed to this kind of environment and played it as pub match which was our downfall.

While I fully agree that we had a problem with strategy and sticking with the objectives. We also probably did complain to much in the moment about the lag and hit reg. If another "clan" or community is hosting a match and has a substandard server it is a cause for concern. I have played in matches in the past where it was called and canceled a quarter of the way through because the server was just just not working. And that is on the community hosting the match. I am not a complainer usually and just take a bit of lag or hit reg issues as par for the course on DICE's netcode issues. But when I come up behind an enemy player and shoot him from about 10 meters 5-6 times with a DMR and is does not just a little damage, but literally zero damage and he turns and has an instant kill, something should be said to the leader of the other team after the match indicating that we would not be playing them on their servers again until it was resolved. That is just my two cents on the issue. In the future some the the strategy stuff could also be ironed out by making clear who the match leader is on our side and not having them leave halfway through without delegating a clear substitute. If this was a "scrim" it would be different, those are just essentially a glorified practice and tune up for actual matches. But this was billed as a "match" so therefor should have been taken a little more seriously imo.

I was also thinking the same thing... and also agree with team training and practice for tactics and call outs. We should try to practice more often, if we have enough people on Vent, throw a quick game in the event server for 30-60 minutes and then bring it to the regular servers for more practice. I was a PU for the game and had no training on the call-outs, and tried my best to get a good game in. Finally, I did not like the trigger lag and the kill issues we had in their server and that is all I would like to say. We should have also have eG\eGO thread on basic call-outs ( I am seeing this already and good job!) basic movement and what weapon and load-outs to have... Cheers!!!

Push or Hold? When we had the Idea of just taking A and B, and then holding onto B for ticket count and having them come to B, We won the match. we need to teach this to everyone in the team... Just like you said, we need a boot camp!!! LOL :chair:
