I like mIRC, but you can also get Chatzilla, a Mozilla add-on. It's pretty good too.

I wasn't aware that we had an IRC channel either. I never saw it in any of the stickies. Perhaps in light of the vent lockdown we should put something on the front page or send out a clan-wide PM with the info?

Oddly enough, I never was able to find the Vent info in the first place. That or I'm just blind and can't see something obvious. Either way, I'll be lurking in the IRC channel then.

The IRC channel isnt big now, but I promise you that I will promote it not only on the TF2 side, but on all of the games. What I need from everyone is for you guys to idle that channel as much as possible.

I was in it all night long, and nothing happened. I think I ended up closing mIRC around 3:30 or 4:00 this morning.

Cool beans... I remember when we had that web-based client chat thing that connected to IRC. Good to see we have an actual channel on gamesurge now. I'll idle that whenever I can!

I'm pretty sure my PC at home is sitting logged in to that channel right now, Unfortunately though, the PCs at school don't have an IRC client on them.

I helped Anne get to the IRC channel so these are the steps we used (this worked since she and I both use Firefox):

1. Download the Chatzilla addon for Firefox (provided by Flippy earlier in this thread): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16
2. Click the button to the left of the input chat box and change your nickname to whatever you desire.
3. Open a new tab and go to this link: [link]irc://irc.gamesurge.net/edgegamers[/link]

By the way, if anyone uses the Opera browser, it has an IRC client built in (under the Tools menu I think). I should be in there shortly.

What ever happened to our room over at edgegamers.us/chat/ ? A month or so ago I logged in to find no eGO room at all. I've missed making fun of Fry.

Edit: Fippy, just find an IRC client that allows you to pick what port you use. I used to route AIM traffic through port 80 all the time at school. Lazy admins blocked the port the client used, but didn't bother to block the domain for the login server.
