What does it mean to you?

W00T I am mentioned in Moose's post!

Okay, so i basically joined EGO to stop annoying punks from ruining my playing time.
Too many times have my precious hours spent gaming been ruined by some griefers and when I found the EGO servers, I decided to take action and attempt to earn admin power.
To me, EGO means a warm community where I can spend my gaming time productively and happily, where I can stop griefers in their tracks and do my best to improve everyone else's gaming as well.

eGO has become like a family for me. I initially stumbled upon the servers by virtue of my low ping to their servers and quickly came to appreciate the professional, no-nonsense attitude with which eGO administered their servers. It was an immense joy to find a place to play where I wouldn't have to worry about punks, hackers, griefers, and whatever other labels you may want to apply towards those players who are generally immature and who make the game experience less enjoyable for others.

After playing on the servers for a while, a member -- and I can't remember who -- tried to recruit me. I think I said that I'd check it out, but I really wasn't that interested. My past experience with clans had shown that they could be an immense drain on your time, and I just didn't want to make that level of commitment to another organization; another hobby.

You see, I started playing TF2 solely as a diversion to consume some of my free time. I built my computer shortly after the holidays, when most of my friends were still trying to recover from the holidays. Or their checking accounts were anyway, so we weren't going out to bars as much. Add to that the fact that it was too cold outside for some of my other hobbies and that some of my other routine commitments had been put on temporary hiatus, and suddenly I found myself with a surplus of discretionary time and the need for something to fill it with. Although I was a huge fan of TFC, my more recent experiences with online gaming had been overall negative, and I rarely stuck with a multiplayer FPS for more than a few weeks here and there. But I never thought I'd find a clan like eGO.

eGO has made my TF2 gaming experience so much more enjoyable than my experience with any other online multiplayer game. And since I have been playing online multiplayer games for over a decade now, that means a lot. In eGO, I have found a mature, professional gaming community that I am proud to be a part of. After the second attempt to recruit me, I finally relented and decided to visit eGO's website. It was then that I started to read the forums and found out just what eGO stood for. I expected eGO to be a competitive clan and I already knew that for several reasons, TF2 competition was something I didn't want to get involved in. Turned out, I was wrong. I discovered that eGO was pretty much everything I was looking for in a gaming community. I discovered that the clan presented a mature attitude, managed their servers in a highly professional manner, and that the community exhibited a high level of camaraderie. And we still do.

The combination of each of those attributes along with so very, very much more was enough to convince me to join, and is still enough to keep me coming back. What started out as a temporary diversion to help me kill some time, has turned into a full blown... addiction? I hate to use that word as it implies some negative attributes that one really cannot apply to eGO. Perhaps, infatuation is a better term to use. I now try to find time to play almost every night. In eGO I have found a community that I really care about. I've found a community that I'm happy to dedicate some of my time and effort towards. While eGO's entire existence is merely virtual, when I think about this community what I feel is a sense of family and a sense of belonging. We may not all like everybody else. We may not always be happy with the decisions made by others, but in the end, we are all here because we chose to be. And we keep coming back because we like what we have found. With eGO I find myself associated with a great group of people, all of whom I am proud to call friends.

I have nothing to say about eGO. eGO is the best clan I've ever been and I will never quit. Being an eGO(Rank) member for me, it's really special. I'm only 13 years old and I'm an eGO already? Edge Gamers™ will never die. My whole life changed when I joined eGO. It reduce my 'bad words act'. Now, I don't cuss that much anymore! eGO changed everybody's life. So, yeah. eGO is kind of my family when it gets to gaming.

eGO is a great organization. Why? Yes, the clean servers and clan activity is a welcome bonus, but the average "clan" (I wish the name of a group of players didn't alienate the average non-gamer) can't even get along! eGO could easily be a lifestyle, characterized by how easy going everyone is and the insistence on care-free playing. Before I joined eGO, clans always felt like a job. Not anymore.

eGO means to me good fun without any bad sports that complain and end up clearing out the whole server, that is what happens to the servers that arnt well taken care of. Also i hate it when someone plays music and refuses to stop. thats why i like the eGO servers they don't like the things that make a clan or server empty out and then its a big waste of time. eGO means so much to me because in my opinion we have the best kept servers in the whole TF2 community!

Kinda new to be answering this question, but I would say being an Edge Gamer is all about having an appreciation for good clean fun within the online gaming environment.

It was asked, and I'm going to answer. The trouble is, I don't know where to start. I found eGO by accident. I moved cities, got a new ISP and immediately fired up steam to see my ping times. Who was at the top of the list? (that's rhetorical, you all know the answer) eGO. I came, I played, I had fun. I noticed the little banner at the bottom that said there was a web site. So I came, I saw and I joined. I even had to ask Garden how to join because apparently I'm not smart enough to do it on my own. Fast forward to today. I am an advisor for eGO and the head of the Admin Recruiters. My team is charged with bringing in QUALITY players to eGO. A job I am more than happy to do. I love dealing with people. So, to answer Garden's question, what does eGO mean to me? Teamwork. Family. Friends. All of the above. I have to be honest folks, I run home after work to get here. After I let Charlie out, I'm all eGO :)

Put simply, I enjoy playing with gamers that are mature and fun to play with. To do that, you need a punk free environment, ergo, eGO.

Edge gamers enables me to feel like I am not the handicapped person that I am, and enables me to give back to the people that give so much to the gaming community. Edge Gamers makes it so I am not stuck in my chair alone.

eGO, to me. is a place to relax, and just get along with the quality people of this community. This isn't like the other clans i had been in, were they were centered around the pure art of "owning" At one time, i had been a loud mouth kid who would rattle of a bazillion curse words, and would actually cuss non stop in real life. eGO's 2Fort server was one of the 1st servers i played the day i got The Orange Box, and i am really prone to liking servers with a great, great Atmosphere.

What was funny, though, I actually read the rules to our server. I hardly ever read the rules to servers. I noticed it had clear codes of conduct, so i followed them. Being cocky, i only decided to join eGO after i had gotten a high KD ratio(yeah, i know. ironic) but couldn't figure out where to sign up! Took me an entire hour of searching the site and asking were to sign up on the servers, i had finally posted my "app"

eGO to me, is my second family. It is a place were i know i can enjoy 5 to 7 hours of gaming a day, without being griefed from every direction. I had a very bad swearing problem, but thanks to eGO I hardly swear anymore. Anyone that i run into, from this clan, is family. Anyone i run into that just frequents our servers, is a guest of honor, Who deserves my up-most courtesy.

And you know what? this is. BY FAR the best clan i've ever joined, ever since i joined one in 1999 for UT-GOTY. And I wouldn't trade this for anything.
Edge Gamers Organization™ Is beyond For The Win

When I joined a server I had no doubt that once I used my microphone I would be insulted about my age. Every server I went I would have fun killing but making no friends what so ever. Ever server I went to had people cursing constantly and being a racist. That all changed once I saw a server with the perfect ping for me (180) called Edge Gamers Organization. I played and had the most fun in my entire life. I actually had fun on a server where no one would criticize me on how well I played, what age I was, and what race. I felt relieved. I joined up and had a life experience.

To be a member of Edge Gamers is like being a part of a miracle, you get to bring people together, make people happy, make people have fun. This clan is not only a United States clan but it is a World Wide Clan. I live in Korea, how was I supposed to find a server that is American but still have a good ping. This clan brings a lot of people together. I got my grandparents to come over every other weekend and my Grandfather played. At school when I tell people about it they are amazed and are more interested in playing such as =(e)= Alexanderin.

To be in a clan where there is hope to have pure fun and enjoy the game and meet new people is just a blessing. This clan is the gateway to having fun, making friends, and becoming closer to one another. That is what it means for me to be a part of Edge Gamers Organization.

eGO is part of my life. When i first joined, i was greeted by everyone. I joined other divisions and got the same results. I was very impressed and i am super proud to be a Edge Gamer. People give you respect in this clan, and I do the exact same thing to others.

What eGO mean to me its like a second family to me. I have made so many new friends that share an intrest in fun friendly gameing. That eGO makes it so my kids can sit down and watch me play with out the worry of punks, cussing, or rasistism. That its also a militery enviroment with helps our younger members strive to work up the ranks with responsibilty and order that will be useful in ther everyday life. The only thing I can say about eGO is I love every seense of the word. ;)

To me, the players at Edge Gamers are family. Honestly, I pass up a lot of opportunities to go do stupid things in my town to stay on here and play with you all. Real life friends call me and tell me how much I missed and all the fun they have, and I just shrug it off and keep quiet.... That is because I'm smiling on the inside knowing that I had a fun filled night of FREE, SAFE, CLEAN gaming with some of the coolest people I will ever meet. I have met my share of fake friends and people I can not count on, but when it comes to eGO, they're as real as they get, nobody is afraid to be themselves and theres always someone to turn to if I get ticked off or I'm just bored!

From past experiences in gaming and running several of my own clans and communities I can safely say that Edge Gamers is most definitely the absolute most organized, well structured communities I have ever come across or even heard of. It is the clan I have always dreamed of building and I was even working on doing so when I met and fell in love with this place. Since the week I found eGO I abandoned my plans for global domination in the gaming world because I had seen that I was already beat and that this was not one of those 3 month clans that would soon be forgotten in the hundreds of thousands of gaming tags you see every day.

It is no lie that we now have our enemies, but I have never seen such a strong standing clan that can take care of problems as quick as we do here at Edge Gamers. There will always be a group of children that will feel defeated by our outstanding success and for that reason there will always be someone that will turn their jealousy into a siege of revenge in an attempt to break us. Unfortunately, for them, they do not realize the strength and honor we take in this clan and we will forever hold strong against our foes in order to build a bigger and better eGO. Our grievers might one day realize that their attacks towards us are not only blown away as if they never happened, but have an overall positive impact on our community when we all see how easily it is taken care of to the point of realization that we are the ultimate community and nothing will take us down!

United we stand; friends hand in hand.

It's funny how gaming can bring together a bunch of people. When you think about it, all of us, we don't know each others very much, but we're all united by the fact that we love a game and we love to play all the same place.

When i joined, i did not think i would stay long because most clans don't have a solid core of players and a strong community. Well this clan does, the peeps care for each others and that is enough to recommend to anyone to join up. I did not want to join to start with, then my wife did and i thought i'd try too... a month later, i'm having a very good time every evenings with you all. :)

eGO makes my day. i play %99 of my game time on an eGO server, mainly because eGO encourages people to enjoy the game instead of ruining it. Before i joined eGO i wandered from server to server looking for one where the admins actually cared about maintaining an enjoyable gaming enviroment, instead of just asking for donations. Then i stumbled upon eGO's servers. When i managed to get in the server, yet another punk with a chip on his shoulder got on and started yelling into his mic and using a disgusting spray, i thought "here we go again" but before i could look at the list of players to see who it was, i saw in the chatbox that he'd been immediatly banned from the server, thats when i decieded to join. I wanted to be a part of a gaming community, who still believes in having fun in a game instead of dominating everyone on the other team and bragging about it. eGO's admins, if i say so myself, could one of the best in the TF2 community. Everyone is always ready to help, give advice, or is ready to play at the drop of a hat.
eGO to me means the exact opposite of its accronym (sp? lol). to me eGO is about the players, not the clan.

Edge Gamers Organazation means alot to me because I dont enjoy when people are always curseing. Like before I played eGO servers the chat box looked like this only without the sensered words, "F*** you you mother F****** B**** I AM GOING TO F****** KILL YOU." Then it goes something like this. "Yeah right you A** hole you are nothing but a B****." It finaly made me so mad that I didn't play any other server but, eGO's servers then =(eG)=™Zopy told me how. Now I am an =(e)=™trumpetmen player, and why I chose trumpetmen as a name I don't know I just play the trumpet so I just picked something random. - =(e)=™trumpetmen [email protected]

Being and Edge Gamer means you want to have fun in a clean environment with none of the crap that is normally in online games. :)

So I started playing TF2 just with some buddies of mine. They joined a clan and kept razzing me to join them, but from what I saw, it wasn't all that great. Their servers were hardly ever full, and even now when I look, half their servers are usually empty. The clan itself didn't seem all that personal, and I didn't feel like being another face in the crowd.

I stumbled across eGO's Warpath server one day, and then found the Convoy server. I can honestly say that I haven't had more fun with this game. I played on the server for awhile, and it's nice to find a server where you start to recognize the people you play with. It's really something to see even the same pubs over and over again when you play on a server, that's when you know you're doing something right.

After awhile, I figured that this clan seemed to have the right idea and seemed like a fun group of people, so I decided to join. I was immediately welcomed and have played pretty much exclusively on eGO's servers ever since. Probably the biggest draw I found after looking over the website and the forums and everything, is the fact that this is a clan that cares more about maturity and character than everything else. I always thought that a clan for a game like this would be all hopped up on how much you play and your scores, but eGO changed my views on that for the better. I'm not the greatest player in the world, but I'm also not the worst, and it's nice to play with people that can see past all that. I really couldn't ask for a better group of people to game with.
