hey i have this memtest

i have it on a lsh drive and can boot my comp from it but the test wont start... i have read how to do it but still no luck any help?

I never used ms's... There is memtestx86, though:

It's basically an ISO you burn to a cd to boot to. It can be run from a flash drive, but it's a bit of work, and if you burn it to a cd you can always save it for future use.

my CD drive is busted can you tell me who to do it from a flash drive?

HP Format Tool
Use HP's usb format tool to make your drive bootable, and then expand the memtest ISO file onto the drive.

Simpler than I thought, hehe... Just made a diagnostic boot drive myself, with an xp install included (multi_boot_cmd), and got a install done in 15 minutes. Nifty...

sorry im such a noob but i tried figuring out how to make my USB bootable using the HP thing but i can figure it out lol sorry for being so annoying but how can i do this

Just set the filesystem to FAT32, and check the option to create an MSDOS boot disk.
