Does eGO still plays EVE Online?

Seriously ? eGO community is so big that can create divisions like tentacles...

And I thinking that clans normally stay only in their main game style (FPS in this case).

We did! Once upon a time, I think we stopped around 2010 or 2011.

I remember those days, although I never got the chance to fly with other capsuleers from eGO during my time of playing EVE. I'd certainly be down to try it one day, if there's ever an interest in a space reunion. I used to run a corporation that sold mostly ammo and some other supplies in Gallente space. It's a fun game, and they always seem to adding more stuff to it.

We did have a corp!

Our old staging system was in Saso (Sasoutheuk or something was full name) and about 11 jumps from amarr, 2 jumps from lowsec for ez pvp.

We then went to 0.0 NPC for a bit and once I got hooked on PvP I left for a bigger nullsec alliance. We did have some pretty good roams back in the day, 50man frig wolf packs and such

I'll find you guys for quick interview about what it was back in the day to have eve division. I remember having some great moments too

I wouldn't mind firing the game back up a bit to play if some people wanted to! Think I'm like 40 jumps from Amarr though at this point

We've definitely tried a lot of things over the years! World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, OP:X (Which included Planetside, ARMA, etc). There's been a few really good games tried. Times change, but we definitely morph with the times.

I remember this. Was always working up to get a drake to pvp with you guys.

Wow I just quit EvE about a half a year ago. Don't plan on going back any time soon, but I just check in on the current politics from time to time. Spent most of my career focusing on small gang PvP and was an FC for my corp. My capital pilot was freshly trained into supercapitals, too.

I'm still capping zones in PS2, even if it's a solo man cap. And some of the old Horde players were talking about meeting up again for more WoW after the last expansion. Nothing official; just good times. Speaking of which, my old CoD 1 clan is gonna have a gaming night this week. Actually jumped into the game and it's so weird playing with low-res graphics again.

Is is because PLEX prices, i remember buying them at 550mill, 500mill, now is almost 1bill, or is it because the changes are making oldSchoolers quit?

Most likely due to players making more isk in-game. I remember a plex going for about 1.4-1.5 bil at one point. Seems to have stabilized around the 1bil mark now.

I have to admit, it was awesome when one of us in leadership put up the batsignal via Twitter and could pull together 30 man fleet in high sec. Not many high sec corps could do that. Heck, that's probably still the case. We had a very high participation rate for a high sec corp, mostly backed up by the fact that so many of us came from within eGO prior to EVE. We already had strong gaming ties outside of just EVE.

In the end, it wasn't any one reason that was the downfall of the division, but really a multitude of reasons. I think the greatest one being that we, as an in-game corp, always had a hard time balancing the needs and wants of our new players who wanted to PVE in high sec along with the old guard who had lost interest in high sec activities and wanted to go PVP somewhere. We did our best to maintain the eGO "accept everybody" standards which did lead to a constant influx of new players, but also made it hard to practice the good corp security needed to graduate to PVP as a corp.

Eventually, this lead to several fractures as small groups split off to go find PVP somewhere. Blackhawk and a few others split off to go to null. A few others split off to form a wormhole PVP corp. Some split off to form a high sec mining corp, etc. Again, different folks may disagree on an analysis, but I think the point of no recovery probably occurred in January 2012 when a large number of us vets, including several members of leadership (I was a DL at the time) all decided to split off and form our own PVP corporation. We still maintained friendly ties with eGO and would help out eGO corp if needed - most of us were still eGO members first after all - but I think the in game activity started to slowly drop. I'm not sure when the division was officially closed down. I started work for a consulting company in late 2012 and really lost touch at that point, but I think it was still alive up until around 2013?

Anyway, eGO had a pretty strong history with EVE at one point, backed by a lot of good veteran members with high participation rates. But I think it would be hard to start a division up again. It was always hard to promote eGO values in a game that is known for double crosses, foul language, and serious hardcore PVP shenanigans.
