Co-op games for your non-gamer girlfriend

I recently moved into an apartment with my girlfriend, she has expressed a willingness to try to get into gaming as well. However I am having issues finding games she and I will both enjoy. I like challenging games like FPS, strategy, and RPGs(if its too complex she doesn't like it), and she likes fighting games, racing games, and platforms(all of which I hate). She has played Dust an elysian tail, and likes the art style and game play of it, and surprisingly she also enjoyed Dark Souls 2. We currently only have my gaming computer and her laptop so playing online multiplayer games are a bit rough. Does anyone know any good local co-op games based on the information above that we both would enjoy? Something simple, with a cutesy art style and if its complex something I could carry her in. I may be willing to invest into a PS4 if there are enough games there but currently only have a ps3.

T Too_Tall Your girlfriend seems to like several games I like. I've got a few that might work. Try Monaco: what's yours is mine, Battleblock theater, Torchlight 2, or Magicka 1 and 2.

I LOVE non-violent games, and a couple were super fun to play with my S.O!

Look at Ibb and Obb, Battleblock Theatre, Tabletop Simulator, and Gang Beasts!

This might be off but, maybe you guys could give Sanctum a go. It's like an FPS tower defense. good times with friends.

I completely recommend portal 1 and 2. It doesn't have co-op multi-player, but I've found that you don't need a co-op mode to have fun. Just have one person control the mouse and the other control the keyboard. No cheating and good luck!

(you can do this with almost any game, but I've found that portal is perfect because you need communication and cooperation... And it's very easy to mess with your partner :3)

You also might want to check out trine. It's a co-op platformer that might appeal to both of you. I'm not sure if it has local co-op, but a laptop should be able to handle it just fine.

Thanks for the recommendations looking through everything I went with battleblock theater as a start seems to meet both of our likes to an extent and has a cutesy art style, the funny theme should also ease her into the game play. And as a bonus their are cats.
