For those who have farms (non auto) that use the traditional 4 rows of dirt, row of water and 4 rows of dirt method. I am here to show you how to grow more food using the same amount of land
Most players build there farms like this....
But there is away to grow more using the same amount of land.
To acheive this you need to build your farms in 9x9 grids
like this....
Now take the center block of dirt and dig it out....
Take your bucket of water and fill that hole with water.
Doing this provides enough moisture to hoe all the blocks around it and grow food
Whats nice about this is you can use that center block filled with water. cover it with another block and place a glowstone block on top of that block to provide lighting so your crops can grow at night.
You can repeat it and it gives your farms a nice aesthetic look to them and might ease that OCD building style that most of us have when building our structures
You can also use another method for growing sugar cane
Instead of doing a row of sand a row of water and another row of sand and repeating
You can do one row of sand, 1 row of water, 2 rows of sand, another row of water and another row of sand.
You can make it wider if you like going huge on your farms
But wait there is more....Do you know that yopu don't need water to grow pumpkins or melons. Well its true.
