Hello everyone! I've been a member of eGO for quite a while now but I have been inactive due to college, country issues (I'm from Venezuela) and whatnot. I still lurk the site and help here and there but don't do as much as I did back in 2013-2015.
So, as the title reads I'm here to talk about Formula SAE, some of you might know what it is, some might not, in short it's a competition between 120 universities around the world that consists of making a single-seater mini F1 car. (Not as potent, we use modified motorcycle motors) it happens every year in Michigan, there are others in Brazil, Japan and UK but the on in the US is the main one.
I'm part of the F-SAE Team from my college and as I said, we are from Venezuela and our country is getting deeper with the crisis, the protests and whatnot but still we (as in my teammates and other universities) try to still do what is right, represent our country, improve and learn so we can use that when the time comes to rebuild whatever is left after our current government falls. After all this rant and speech you might be asking me to get to the point, and that is to help us. We started a fundraiser so we can buy parts, tools and whatever we need to build our 2018 model, we have to bring them from outside of venezuela mainly due to how expensive they are here and trying to earn bo?vares (our currency) to buy them will probably take more than the time we have before we finish college (I'm not joking). If you can't donate we still appreciate if you passed the fundraiser link around, family, friends, random persons in the internet, it all works and it's for a good cause. If you've read everything thanks a lot.
