I don't want to sound like I want cheese with this whine but....

It made the servers a lag fest. I normally have no problem with full servers, but I was disconnected 3 times and got in very little play time. Might be caused by issues with the new map though.

Well you don't have to worry about me, I am the guy that never wants to be medic... I've tried it and it's just lame, maybe that's why they are coming up with all these incentives for people to be medic.... Valve checks the overall stats and maybe medic is the least played.

werd. I was just about to post exactly this. Though I appreciate the medic position, and am grateful to those who do go medic all the time, I HATE playing medic.

Yes, I bump. I like playin medic, but with all the new people playing that class on ALL the servers now (including Goldrush) it's just not good teamwork, and this is TEAM fortress, not Medic Fortress :p I love to play medic, but I'll wait for the ferver to die down before i try to earn my acheivements. btw, I hope someone records all the medic-on-medic ubers that are going on so someday we can all laugh about this :p

3 hours of my 250+ hours are medic and it's likely to stay that way.

If my medic beam touches you, you'll eat rocket crit within 10 seconds.

Guaranteed. I get people killed as medic.

I want you on my team!

I'm really annoyed that this had to happen. This disrupts the team-based element and makes people farm for achievements. Not only does this have immediate disruptions to the gameplay but it has long term effects in that some medics will inevitably have an advantage over others. I would hate it if other players on my team would look down at me or be annoyed if I didn't unlock the achievements. I am just not as hard core. Previously, hard core or not, everyone was on an equal playing field.

Why doesn't Valve look at Halo 3, which awards you with armor pieces instead of new weapons to ensure that skill is the only deciding factor in the game?

I agree with everyone that says that this update is compromising the fun on the servers. However, being the responsible and intelligent community of eGO, we should still play with the purpose of teamwork. Make the game more enjoyable for everyone by only being medic when you need to. It is this element that caused me to join the clan in the first place.

I think I remember that a while ago, people were talking about having some eGO event dedicated just to unlocking the achievements. Sure, you could call it cheating or conspiring, but I disagree with Valve's design decisions, and I think that doing this would encourage people to not immediately switch to medic.

Also, don't you feel incredibly special and useful when you are the only medic on a team? While it may be better to have more medics (before the update I mean), people are grateful to you for choosing a class that not many people previously would go for. I felt a great sense of comradeship when I said, "Who needs a medic?" Now, I think this whole concept is reversed.

Well I for one am pretty disgusted at the behaviour at some players, after the update last night we had like 12 medics on warpath at least just on our side. At least 6 of them were in the spawn trying to get achievements. Guys have you ever heard the expression, "cheats dont prosper" by farming medic acheivements theres no feel good after feeling, you sully the fun of getting them, you might as well go online and get a cheat code to fill them in for you.. Wheres the bloody fun? or the point for that matter?

I was still playing heavy last night, I want to know, why players that dont usually play medic need these achievements so much. Once they have them are they going to play medic even more... No of course they are not... so whats the flipping point.

I was trying to play a game and there was all these medics running around, that couldnt care less if you needed healing or if you were on fire. I think its ridiculous. When I play and get achievements I like to know I got them because I deserved them... all you guys and you know who you are, got them for what.. what good feeling di you have after

are you proud of yourselves.... Cos I personally think its a damn shame and you should all be ashamed of yourselves !

I've lost the little bit of joy that I had by going into a server and seeing 8-10 medics on each team. It's a bit ridiculous.

My one question to everyone who is doing this is this... with most people never playing medic why start because there is new weapons? medic didn't interest you before when you didn't have anything special so why would you really care now? I can't honestly see people using most of the weapons when they get them anyway, so why do they care now? This is why I believe valve screwed this up by making just one class first.

ps, if it was another class (take spy for instance) there wouldn't be this commotion i don't think
