...we'll see you later :)

From planethalflife.com about the 'unlock all acheivments' cheat:

PC Gamer UK have been in contact with Valve's Robin Walker, who said that Valve are aware of the problem, that they can tell who has cheated, and that they will be taking action shortly.

nah, they won't punish anyone. A lot of people were tricked, or just tried it because we didn't believe it, like myself. They're just gonna reset the achievements so you only get what you've earned.

What will they do... i'm quaking in my boots already.

I lost the ability to use the weapons last time i looked - just had the plain old ones: tried all the diferent servers to find i couldn't use the ubersaw. I hope they don't take action such as banning the many people that did it - including me. I guess i will have more fun unlocking other class weapons, because i hate the medic. that's why i put in the code - i could never dream of using the ubersaw legit.

I would be kind of amused actually if they pulled a Microsoft here - if I recall, MS decided to take Live achievements away from those who had save-game-cheated to get them -- moreover, they made it so those players could never get those achievements again, whether through honest means or not.

I cheated. They took all my achievements away. I don't care, I hate the medic.

I <3 the medic and for their actions I'll give valve a little e-cookie...but it's okay I'm not really supporting them, I already took a bite out of it first :D

I got the first two legit, but oh well. I had fun getting them the first time, and I had fun getting them a second time. only takes an hour or two.

I'm sure that Valve won't be banning anyone. "Taking action" is just a way of saying that the achievements will be reset for those that cheated (at least how I see it). Nothing to worry about :)

I don't think they will do anything. They screwed up as usual. What they need to do is start over. Reset everyone's legit or not and plug all the holes instead of Microsofting it (work in progress) and releasing it just to patch later *cough* VISTA *cough*

No doubt about it, Valve screwed up. Valve wanted the weapons to be a reward for earning achievements, and with this command, they have more work to do. I personally would like the command to stay (not because I'm a dirty cheater) but for the people that don't have enough time to play or for the people that want to ensure that their team doesn't have too many medics by switching to another class. I would like to keep the achievements and the weapons separate so the game still has an equal playing field (It's not like we want to create a MMOFPS here) but people can still compare skill and feel accomplished with the medic achievements. If Valve had to create an award for hard working players, it could be an icon next to their name or possibly an enhanced medic skin. Take Halo 3 as an example. When you complete certain parts of the game an earn achievements, you will eventually get new armor pieces to show your "1337ness." It's better because there still is an equal playing field, so skill and not dedicating time to earning the achievements is the deciding factor in-game.

It would've been nice if Valve, instead of creating a bunch of achievements for medic, created fewer achievements but created achievements for each class. This doesn't bother me though.

hmm i wish i would have done that lol. that was prob the only time i would have had the upgrades. i'm not the best medic.

I didn't cheat, but I do think the cheater need to get their just desserts. I can understand wanting to try them out, but if you don't play Medic a lot what do you care?
