My name is Captain Mental, some of you may already know me, some dont.

I'd like everybody to know:

I am a TF2 Medic and i'm proud to be one!

1. I play the class Medic cause i like it.
2. I play Medic cause i'm a team player.
3. I play Medic cause I'm good at it.
4. I play Medic cause people dont want to play it much.
5. I play Medic cause Medic is the most important class in my eyes.
6. Achievements dont interest me, if i get them, then so be it.

Who else is a proud Medic like me? Please respond!

We get it. You hate that everyone is going medic and most of them are terrible at it and are playing it for all of the wrong reasons. They are just playing it right now because it is something new. After about a week, the newness will wear off and people will go back to playing their regular classes. The good medics will just get better and the rest probably will hardly ever play medic again. Sorry if I seem frank, but today is just not my day.

I've been playing medic since Team Fortress Classic, it's always been one of my favorite classes.

I was telling Munch that although I think the idea of unlockables was a really cool idea, but I hate that it attracts all the idiots to play a class that they otherwise they wouldn't dare touch because "they like doing l33t damagezzzz."

I've loved and played the new medic ever since I got the TF2 open beta, not because of achievements but because I wanted to. I've honed my skill to play a class that most people ignore and now that there's a medic for every player it makes it kind of pointless to be skilled.

I would however like to get these doggone achievements.

When i'm not sniping, I love being a medic. It's all about the headshots and crit-saws :D

On the brightside, at least people will be more open to playing medic, instead of it being the "ok FINE, i'll switch to medic" class.

Today was a frustrating time. 5-10 medics would be awesome if they all knew the basics. I played medic on Warpath for a bit and did very well, but on Goldrush I couldn't get a heal as a demoman when I was in front of a group of medics standing in a circle, participating in a disgusting frat game that I won't mention. I hope it wears off quick, because I have the most fun playing as a medic. First and foremost I play a class that helps my team, which is naturally why I play as a medic most of the time.

I am split on the class cap to limit the number of medics: I want a cap to keep the knuckle heads from ruining the TEAM part of the game; I don't want a cap because there will just be 3-4 stooges taking up the valuable slots. I voted for not limiting the class before I hopped into a game. Now I think it may be necessary to limit the class to at least make the game enjoyable, instead of being steamrolled when your team is basically missing 5 players. The next update needs to encompass 2 or more classes to keep things a little more balanced - I would love to see a sniper/scout release. Wait...what did I just wish for?

I love playing medic, although my stats won't show it... Depending on the situation I normally play either soldier or medic.

I couldn't agree more... Quite frankly it horrifies me that a normally powerful team would fall apart just because there are too many medics and not enough offensive classes...

I was a medic before it was cool.

Every sever is like this now...

I never played medic until about a month ago. Now it's my number two class.

And yes, I only started playing medic because there was talk of updates. And that's exactly what valve wanted, to move medic away from the bottom of the barrel as far as most played class. Worked for me.

Well said and to the point.... I agree, hopefully things will get back to normal again soon so that the skilled medics will get the attention they deserve.

Medic has become my favorite class, although since starting I have played soldier more. I like being in the thick of things, running around healing like mad, and I think that I'm OK at it. I'm not by any means great, but OK.
IDK, though. I played on a Goldrush server last night were about 1/3 of the players were medic, and I liked it. It was fun, ubers were everywhere, the battles were EPIC because everyone survived all the way up to the front lines, and I thought "this was how the game should go!" A 1:2 medic to other ratio works for me...

Oh yeah! well...

My name is Ryael and there may be something you don't know about me.

I'm a TF2 Engi and proud of it!

1. I have a tattoo of an engineer with a level three SG robot, walking around shooting people that goes all around my torso.
2. I eat Spies for breakfast, use Medics as Lawn Gnomes and Heavies as paper weights.
3. I helped design the new Engi updated weapon, the Wrenchonator. It shoots out wrenches to heal things or pelt people to death.
4. I helped storyboard the Alpha testing for the HL2: Episode 3 and the coolest part is where you're in this big fight with G-Man and an engineer puts up an SG and kills him.

My name is Noravic. Hey everyone.

I got promoted to eG a while ago mostly because I was able to be a good team player which was demonstrated when I was a medic. I will continue my devotion towards helping the team instead of focusing on personal gain (achievements).

I know how you feel Captain. But don't worry, things will return to normal.

Maybe I may take advantage of this influx in medics and be a heavy, pyro, or soldier. They'll be all over me! :)

I also like to play medic; it's part of the team concept and I liked triggering the ubers and helping take out sg's and defending the cap and turning the tide and healing teammates before they expired and putting out flames sometimes whipping out my bonesaw to tear up a spy; unfortunelty, with so many pretend-medics right now i'm stuck being the heavy or pyro ~:( ...it's frustrating 'cause once people get the stupid new med weapons they'll probably never play medic again. ~:(

I can understand the frustration, but I figure just let people get it out of their systems and play what they want. I played medic for a bit this afternoon, got some of the achievements. After I got it out of my blood though, I realized how much of a grind it would be to get all those weapons unlocks, especially for a class I don't usually play. Went back to business as usual playing what I actually enjoy playing (demo, engy, sniper, etc). Anyways, I don't think it'll take long for people to get tired of it.

Medic was my first and favourite class. I'm boycotting the class for a while until people get a taste of him and go back to their other classes.

i play medic.

I'll keep playing medic.

I'll farm the hard achievements (not in ego servers), i'll get a cool saw, and i'll live happily ever after.

I am a Medic. Love the class, it is the backbone of the entire team. My stats prove that I do not play medic now because of some update.
#1 Medic: 40hrs.
#2 Soldier: 11.3hrs.

Ok point made. As HoosTrax demonstrated, the newness will wear off and people will realize that to get all of them, it will take them a long time. Then they will go back to playing as normal.

Well, you all should realize that when the mad medic rush is over, there'll be a heck of a lot more good medics out there on the servers. Most people would probably never touch the medic until the updates, but some will find out that they really like it, and stick with it.

Just weather the storm, be patient, it will pass, and we'll all be the better for it.

I'm good at everything, except pyro. I can't play sniper for too long because I hate not doing "enough" to help my team win. I play spy just for fun and the joy of hearing the characters scream as they die, but I have the same issue with the sniper.

All I have to say is: Let my hours show that I care:
