Comments about lag in server

Please...to all you new members, do not complain about lag of any sorts in open chat in the servers. First off, it could be caused by just about anything that has nothing to do with the server. It will not help by complaining to ALL of the clients/potential new members about it and drawing unneeded attention to it. Almost everytime when I hear someone complain about lag, I do not have any lag at all.

Agreed. Chances are right now with all this new stuff going on if you are lagging, everyone else is lagging. Especially if you aren't used to lagging before. So to echo what Sharpshooter said, don't gripe about it and just play.

When I ask if the server is laggy I am trying to troubleshoot whether its 1 of three things GPU stress, my ISP underachievers at work, or the server itself. Sorry if I do complain I will try to remedy that.

Lag is the universe's way of telling you it's time to take a break and clean your room. It's a disgusting mess, and I was going to speak to you about it anyways, but didn't know how to bring it up. As for the lag thing, I do the same thing as Lafinass, I will ask occasionally to see if it's something on my end that I can actually do something about. If it's not, I just deal with it and keep fragging.

Is there an actual correspondence between medics and the server lagging? It's not a graphical thing, I'm pulling a smooth 60 even as I chop across the battlefield.

I'm also with Lafin and MrQ, the only time I've asked recently was just to figure out whether or not it was just me or if it was everyone. I just want to ensure that if it's me I can try to fix it, if it's not me oh well I'll just keep fragging and continue to have fun. But like lafin said, it's not graphical, I'm also pulling about 60fps so I was just trying to figure out if its cause I left something on in the background or if it's just the server load.

Always a debater, well, how about we use "admin" chat to discuss how laggy our servers are so that the rest of our clients have to hear it. By crying about the lag, you help nothing, not even yourself. Nobody will respond with a helpful answer so why even go there. This has been discussed in numerous meetings by advisors to NOT complain about the lag in open chat in the servers. This is nothing new, this is just a simple reminder to the eGO nubs that have not heard it before, not for a seasoned veteran like yourself, you are expected to know better.

I'm not debating for sake of debating, I'm debating because it's what I believe.

Because asking 2 or 3 people if they're lagging isn't nearly as helpful as asking the server population?

And as for helpful answers, when I ask "Is anyone else lagging" and half dozen players chime in immediately then I can safely assume that it is NOT in fact an issue I can fix on my end. That's extremely helpful for me.

I don't mind playing through lag as long as it's lag I can't do anything about.

Please read my first post. I asked for members to not COMPLAIN about lag in OPEN chat. There is no harm or complaint about someone merely asking in ADMIN chat if they are experiencing lag too.

Lets just not complain about it in the servers. Simple. no need to go back and forth. It is pointless to just say lag.
