Anime What are you currently watching?

With this season wrapping up in the next week or so and the new season of anime starting in ~2 weeks, figured I'd post what I'll be watching and I'm curious what you all are looking to pick up. If you need to find out what's coming out, you can always check MAL/anichart or something. (too lazy to get the MAL link). Anywho, there are a few things I'm actually looking forward to that I know I'll at least enjoy.
  • BEM
  • Dr. Stone
  • Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?
  • Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2
  • Quanzhi Gaoshou 2nd Season

I've been following the Takagai-san and Dr. Stone manga for a few years now so I'm definitely excited for another season of Takagai-san and I'm really hyped for a Dr. Stone anime finally. There are some scenes that, potentially and hopefully, I'm excited to see animated. Sometimes anime can bring out a lot of "finesse" in action sequences that you can't really get in manga. As for BEM, the synopsis sounds really interesting to me and Production I.G is usually pretty solid with their releases. Should be decent at worst. And then there's Doga Kobo with another moe blob slice of life. Although I'd rather take another season of New Game! so I can get more Yun screentime, this will have to suffice for now.

Anywho, those are the 5 shows I'm definitely looking forward to. Then there are several I may give a shot, but I'm not too sure just yet.
  • Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka II
  • Enen no Shouboutai (fire fighting anime?)
  • Kanata no Astra
  • Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-tachi e
  • Tsuujou Kougeki ga Zentai Kougeki de Ni-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki desu ka?
  • Uchi no Ko no Tame Naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru Kamo Shirenai.

I'm not really a big Index/Railgun fan, but I'm sure fans of those series will enjoy the Accelerator spinoff coming out. As for danmachi, I did watch the first season and I recall enjoying it at the very least. Might as well give this season a go. Enen no Shouboutai is an anime about fire fighters? That actually sounds kind of neat. Kanata no Astra sounds kind of like a neat little space/scifi surival thing but with a more lighthearted approach. Katsute I'll probably pick up simple for MAPPA studio. I don't think they've done anything that I haven't enjoyed, especially with Dororo and Sarazanmai being their two most recent works.

Tsuujou Kougeki ga Zentai Kougeki de Ni-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki desu ka? & Uchi no Ko no Tame Naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru Kamo Shirenai. are both obnoxiously long titles and seem to have a small twist on the who isekai formula. The first has the character's mother travel with him to this new world which, to me, is already a funny enough premise to at the very least check out. The latter gives me some Barakamon/Usagi Drop/Udon Kuni vibes of taking care of a young/innocent child - in this case a demon child?

Oh well, that's what I'm sort of looking at right now. Curious what you all are looking at for the upcoming season.

If you can get a hold of a physical or digital copy, Outlaw Star. The Dub is actually good (rare praise from me), and it is one of those 90s Toonami anime that everyone should see at some point.

Naruto Shippunden

I hated animes before, but my gf insisted on watching the whole Naruto story and then shippunden and now I watch episodes without telling her.

But I think it's the only I could like... I tried watching One Punch Man or Titans Attack on my own but I can't feel the good vibes

I loved the Miyazaki movies but I just can't watch other animes (maybe I'm too old?)

Everyone has their own tastes and preferences, but I wouldn't really let age determine if you're "too old" to watch anime or not. There are plenty of series aimed at a more mature market and/or some that might understand better if you watch it when you are older as opposed to younger. You may enjoy a series like Cowboy Beop, Black Lagoon, Monster, or the film Akira for example.

Long time no see everyone. I’m not overly active here anymore but love that the threads been going strong.

Been watching:

- Yuru Camp
- Welcome to the NHK
- March Comes in Like a Lion

Some I’ve recently completed:

- Anthem of the Heart (I liked it a lot)
- Eureka Seven
- Hibike Euphonium 2
- A rewatch of Your Lie in April with my girlfriend.

Hope you’re all doing well. Will stop by sometime for a more extensive post and to catch up on MEGA’s posts.

If anyone’s looking for me, I’m quite active on the social site Anilist. User is iSimon, same Avatar

Was wondering where you were when I didn't see your name pop up here. Good to hear from you. I'm hoping to actually pump out maybe 4/5 reviews over the coming week or so now that I have a solid 2/3 weeks before my next class begins, as well as the seasonal review.

I have one. Remember seeing it randomly at a Best Buy on discounted sale. I was able to finally see how the entire show ended with that. Voice acting really isn't that bad in this eng dub.

I loved the soundtracks in Samurai Champloo (back when I had a room mate who was watching that)

But yeah sorry, I checked out your suggestions and I don't feel attracted by the pilot episodes.

I'm waiting for a good moment to watch Akira

Also currently, I'm just watching everything i can! I got a lot more free time since school just ended so...

lots of anime time

Girlfriend and I started Konosuba. What a hoot. Onto Season 2 now :)

Simon Simon
Yeah Konosuba is a lot of fun. You better make sure she's caught up on Digimon before February. Looks like the movie in 2020 is officially titled: Last Evolution Kizuna. Kizuna means "bond" or "connection" so I'm expecting a hit in the feels from this one. It's supposed to be, for now, the final animated anything related to Digimon Adventure. Of course, if they like money, they'll probably figure something out.

2 weeks in, I'm gonna say it.

This season's awesome.

I'm particularly fond of:
-Kimetsu no Yaiba & Fruits Basket (leftovers)
-Fire Force
-Dr. Stone
-Lord El Melloi spin-off
-Vinland Saga
-Araburu
-Joshikousei no Mudazukai
-Given

That being said, there are many other great shows too. Kanata no Astra, Dumbbell Nankiro Moteru, Katsute Kami datta Kemono-tachi e, etc.

As someone who enjoyed the side story more, I actually found episode 1 of DanMachi 2 to be an absolute banger. Looking forward to it.

Also found some time on the side to start watch Shirobako. Absolutely loving it so far.

This season I'm giving the following a shot:

- given
- Astra: Lost in Space
- Granbelm

I tried Dr.Stone but don't enjoy the writing or characters, unfortunately :(

One punch man is funny but sometimes I just hate how young japanese people talk. I prefer when it's old japanese talking with a deep voice

Well we loved Konosuba. I'm excited for the upcoming movie too.

Currently watching Beck, and I think we are going to start the Quintessential Quintuplets too.
