Custom Font Settings for Shoutbox

So I posted a shout on the shoutbox and I customized my settings to make it easier for me to read. I made the font larger and changed the color to red.
How it looks on my side:

Now are these settings supposed to change the color and the setting on my shout to everyone else? I thought it was only supposed to do it for me. This is what others are seeing:

Go to this link and deselect the option for "Enable Shout Style Override." Was wondering about this until I was going through my settings the other day and noticed that option.

Oh... I see that. wow I would never have seen that option.
Would it be possible to have it deselected by default?
