Just a graphics quickie.

So when I'm playing games I usually lower their resolution via the in-game settings to increase performance (I play on a laptop, so I need every extra frame I can get). Will lowering my screen's resolution on top of this do anything to help?

There's generally some better ways to get performance out. Try using a tf2mate config to get some performance out without cranking the resolution down and burning your eyes haha

Lowering resolution on your screen will have no better impact if your game resolution is already set lower, it automatically sets it for the game. Although if you want to have any other games automatically set to the resolution you desire then set it on your screen, personally I would just focus on running less programs and lowering graphical settings for performance increase, and if that fails, maybe you might want to consider getting a new PC.
