Hey!

This is solely based on this: https://www.prestige-gaming.org/rules/terrortown/ -- If there is another rulebook, please let me know.

I've now been playing on pG TTT for some time and having the rules up on my 2nd monitor so I can always scroll through them when in doubt is very helpful.

Though there are some specific areas that I would like to get clarified, or even just mentioned:

DNA Scanner clarification
Right now it says nothing about DNA Scanners and it's functions. How many bodies you need to scan to call KOS, and if it differs between Innocent and Detective bodies.

Innocent Camping
I know that most pre-merge eGO TTT players are used to Innocents being allowed to camp, since it's the traitors' duty to kill off the innocents. The fact that Innocents are not allowed to camp is nowhere in the rules, and was to me (pre-merge eGO admin) very confusing in the beginning.

T Baiting
Nowhere to be found was a rule about T baiting. It has not been clarified, nor has it even been mentioned.

I would like to add that I did figure out (by going on TS and asking pre-merge pG admins about the specific rules) what to do in those specific situations, and what is what. I just wish for other newcomers and pre-merge eGO members and admins to be able to read through the rules, and get a clear view of what is going on.

Thanks!

about the dna scanner, there can i say if the Detective dna scan a green body, you have to call kos on the killer immediately, but if you die before calling kos it sucks, but then the killer is high sus, if its a red body you call proven on the killer immediately too, for if you dont call proven people will not trust him.

the Camping part, well on PG you cant camp at all or else its a kick for camp or delay, but if you are a Traitor camping in a tree for example and you are killing people too from that tree its not camping, Innocents can never camp they have to pursue the round at all cost, for they have to id all the bodies.

T baiting, yes its not in the rule book, but I'm pretty sure its in the admin FAQ not sure about that, but if people T baits you and you see them do it too you, you have to wait for a bit, but if they keep doing it, kill them, but if you T bait you can get killed too, *a lot of new players thinks when they get killed for T baiting they got rdm*

that's pretty much it :) have fun admining

Hello sopheyy sopheyy ,

I'm an AT, I understand how some of our rules could be confusing but, we have a really helpful community of players and they do their best to educate new people about what isn't written directly in the rules.

1. DNA Scanner Clarification
The rule for DNA Scanner based KOS is derived from the "Traitorous Behaviors" list:
Killing or injuring non-suspicious players, or the detective (unless it was line-of-fire or were attacked first) or a proven-player.
Detail: A proven Innocent is someone you witnessed kill a Traitor or tested as an Innocent. They are NOT proven by word-of-mouth.
When a body is identified as innocent it falls into the "proven innocent" category. A detective only needs one innocent or detective body to call a valid KOS. However, many detectives choose to ask for reasoning behind the kill before calling a KOS.

2. Innocent Camping
In pG TTT no players are allowed to delay the round, this is to encourage faster game pacing and reduce round times. Under the "How to Play" section you can find our rule regarding delay:
How to Play
Do not delay the round.
Players camping in singular locations or hiding delay the pace of the round. One of the Innocent role's key tasks is to search the map for unIDed bodies in order to aid the process of elimination, you can't do that if you are camping. This rule also applies to pace at which traitors eliminate innocents. Traitors should always be on the hunt and take every opportunity given to them. Delay is up to admin discretion to determine, however, most admins see delay as a lack of activity late in the round. Please follow warn/kick procedure for delay. Do not ban for delay unless multiple warnings/kicks have been given.

3. T Baiting
T-baiting is a form of griefing. Players T-baiting are looking to intentionally interfere with their teammates' gameplay and are a disruption to the server. Griefing is a global rule both communities. Under pG's Global Server Rules in the "Server and Forum Rules" you can find our rule regarding griefing.
Do not grief, cheat, script, exploit or use hacks of any kind
T-baiting is when an innocent player intentionally does traitorous behaviors in an attempt to have another player kill them. Often this takes the form of players shooting near and around another player in order to provoke them into killing them. If you see a player T-baiting please follow w/k/b procedure

Thanks for all these great questions, I hope I get to see you around the server :D

Also we have a semi complete running FAQ, hopefully we can get some more questions added into it moving forward. The end goal is to have them be added to the end of the rules. Here's a link in case you're interested.

As I said - I did figure it out by going onto our TeamSpeak, asking for help.
Though I find it very unrealistic for pre-merge eGO admins to come on the server and admin everything they're supposed to admin, when this is not clearly stated in the rules. It's very obvious to me there has been complaints about eGO admins not doing their job - because how are they supposed to? The rules are very vague and unclear (if you ask me, and any other person who haven't played on the server enough to know the rules by heart).

All I hope is that the rules will get an update. A big update.

I totally hear your concerns, the rules were written so that players could have a quick read and get right into playing without RDMing other players. They don't go into detail because our player base has always helped new players to understand the rules that aren't written directly. Admins are also expected to be reasonable and help new players understand the rules. We don't have umbrella rules that cover things like how detectives are to use DNA scanners. Our reasoning is that different scenarios pop up like, a detective saw a player get shot by multiple players first, we don't want that detective to be forced into calling a KOS in situations like that because the rules tell him too. Like I said in my last reply, moving forward we are looking to keep a running FAQ on the forums along with putting common questions in the FAQ at the bottom of the rules page

Previous eGO admins have the opportunity to take pG TTT and JB admin training, this training covers most of the concerns that you have brought up with admins not being able to cover all their bases right away. The training will help to smooth over anything that is unclear.

I have taken the pG TTT and JB admin training, and I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that this specifically is not covered in that training session.
I'm mostly thinking about the scenarios that differ from eGO TTT rules, since that's what we're used to. Maybe this should just be covered in training, but then I feel that it should be emphasized.

Since this should not be a problem for newer admins, since they have played on the server for ages before getting promoted, I feel that maybe just get it clarified in the taining for eGO -> pG?

I feel like the problem you got from the pG training for eGO admins was it is the same style a pG training is where they don't focus on the rules as much an only focus on the way an admin is used to deal with the rules. For all eG and eGO to learn a new rule set will be hard but they should focus on the new (to them) rules as a completely different server like jail to TTT not TTT to TTT. I also suggest reading the rules and FAQ over again if you are confused and asking pG AT's about it if the confusion still exists. The training is not meant to teach the rules, the rules are to be learned by the player before playing.

But how are we (eGO admins) supposed to learn the rules properly, when they're not stated? Sure, if you read between the lines, yes - but that's not how every brain works.
As I said, this isn't important for new admins, but it definitely is important for the old eGO admins.

I don't think you know how many times I've been called incompetent or been told that other eGO admins are incompetent, because we couldn't admin properly, due to lack of specific rule knowledge.

When it all comes down to it, the rules from eGO to pG are very similar, so all I'm suggesting is that the few rules (Yes, few) will be gone over by the admin trainer when in session.

As seen above, it's literally 3 rules that I have had doubts about, and one of them is even the same as in eGO.

I'm confused how you had doubts when all 3 of those are in the rules, FAQ, or both?

Let me clarify --

Killing or injuring non-suspicious players, or the detective (unless it was line-of-fire or were attacked first) or a proven-player.
Detail: A proven Innocent is someone you witnessed kill a Traitor or tested as an Innocent. They are NOT proven by word-of-mouth.
This is the rule for the DNA scanner (and other stuff) - but not once is DNA Scanning mentioned?

How to Play
Do not delay the round.
This is the rule for Innocents not delaying - but other servers (including eGO) allow Innocents and Detectives to camp, so it might be misinterpreted by pre-merge eGO admins.

Do not grief, cheat, script, exploit or use hacks of any kind

Coming from another community; who would not have doubts? Because hearing from the regulars from pG, eGO admins are terrible. And from my experience on eGO servers, the admins were not terrible.
There is obviously a pattern here, and I'm unsure why you are willing to see it.

I think the best solution to this is to add these situations into the FAQ located at the end of the rules. That way we aren't making the actual rule set a longer read and it is easily on hand to be referenced if there are any questions.

100% Onboard with that.

Perhaps we can create a unified document for TTT / JB rules, and in that document have rules that are the same between the 2 servers, then separate rules that are specific to each one. It would be great to have it all in one spot, I feel. Maybe get the AT team together for CS as a whole and have a chat, get this all done. Just my two cents. :)

sopheyy sopheyy Do you have a suggestion what we can add/change to make the DNA-scanning clear?

The following can be added in the "How to play" section so everyone is on the same page:

Do not delay the round - innocents, traitors and detectives must actively pursue the objective.
Do not pretend to be a traitor if you are not one (traitor baiting).

May I ask, the objective of an innocent? (As to your definition) I personally thought it was to do anything to stay alive. (Deeming any actions done that still follow the rules)

Also another question, how may one player pretend to be a traitor even if that player actually may be a traitor?
(Not pertaining the obvious offences such as blatantly leaving bodies unid-ed, shooting other players with no logical reason other then to kill, shooting around other players, following a player with an explosive, and so on)

Im just asking out of curiosity and clarification

See below
What is Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT)?
Trouble in Terrorist Town is a psychological action game mode where players are divided into three different groups. The groups are Innocent, Detective and Traitor.

Traitors

A traitor is shown as an Innocent to everyone, except for other traitors. Traitors must use the element of surprise, deception and their special equipment to eliminate all the innocents and detectives without getting caught and killed.

Detectives
A detective is a proven innocent who has access to special equipment to find out who the traitors are. Detectives are a great asset to the process of elimination, which makes them a high-profile target.

Innocents
An innocent is suspected as a traitor until they have proven themselves to other innocents and detectives. Innocents have to survive and use the process of elimination to figure out who the Traitors are, and kill them.

A person can say in voice or normal chat that they are a traitor, but most of the time a traitor will say hes a innocent tho

If someone says that they are a traitor they can be killed, even if they are inno. That's just a stupid inno

I'm not too sure. But I do know that some servers you need two scans on a single person to call out a KOS, since RDMs/misunderstandings could've happened.

Maybe just a way to clarify that?

T baiting could have some;
"Traitorbaiting is when you claim that you're a traitor. It is also when you shoot at someone," blabla. You know, clarifying it a little bit - both so we, as admins, can reference it, but also so newcomers can see, black on white, what T baiting is on this specific server.
