So, jumping the gun here, but the 26th will mark 10 years in eGO for me.
Nearly 10 years ago, I was in a community called Old School Soldiers. It was a die hard Call of Duty clan, and it was fantastic, but I was looking for something more. I alternated between the OnA Pests (A Opie and Anthony fan community) and the eGO Day of Defeat servers. Finally, Davethegreat talked me into joining after playing on the server for several months. Shortly after I moved to TF2 once I picked up the orange box.
I've made so many great friends and great memories since joining eGO and I look forward to so many more. Many of my favorite memories involve meeting those I've become good friends with online. A few are below.
One of my favorite moments was last year, meeting my long time friends and "coworkers" Legend GardenGroveVW and USCG Hammer
As a few previous leadership members have called us... "The Boys Club"
The picture on the stairs was just after we nearly got kicked out of the eGO Party at the Golden Nugget for having alcohol. Apparently, they didn't know the kids that were present were Hammer's.
Or two years ago when I went to visit blackhawksniper
It was a pretty epic trip and we've met up several times since then, including going to see my first F1 race and flying out of the country for the first time.
Or last year when I finally met most of the (at the time) TF2 leadership team. Here's a sweet picture of P Pzycho and I.
It was a pretty epic time, we even did a group mustero and Minty tried to wash it down with fireball, to which she quickly realized that she hates fir
Last weekend, I met up with H Hideout2244 and am looking forward to meeting up with a few of the GTA fools in Kansas City soon.
EdgeGamers is a pretty awesome place and I'm so grateful for the position I've been entrusted with and I look forward to 10 more years with you beautiful people.
So, if you're reading this, thanks for taking the time to read this post.
Finally, I want to thank someone who shall remain nameless.
The last month has been pretty tough for me, as I've encountered some fairly challenging issues in my life. I was definitely in the need of a win. A few nights ago, a few of us were talking about the performance of my GTA FiveM and I was talking about upgrading my rig later in the year. Before I knew it, I had someone messaging me about getting me a second 1060. After realizing that the 1060 cant SLI and giving them the address to my office, I had a new video card on the way.
This arrived at my office today and I can honestly say I'm without words. I am forever grateful for this community and all the great people we have here. It's hard to describe exactly how much I appreciate this gesture and it really couldn't have come at a better time.
I've left their name out on purpose, but thank you. I can't say it enough.
And thank you eGO for 10 wonderful years. I couldn't imagine spending my evenings doing anything else.
Plus, if I didn't have eGO, I'd be broke from buying car parts more frequently.
TLDR; eGO is amazing and you suck and are ugly for not reading the whole post.
