Good things come to those who wait. From Shacknews
[blockquote]The judge presiding over infamous anti-game litigator Jack Thompson has recommended that the attorney be found guilty of 27 counts of misconduct in Thompson's recent Florida Bar trial, GamePolitics reports.

Florida Judge Dava Tunis issued recommendations of guilt related to Thompson's participation in several video game-related cases such as Strickland v. Sony, in which the attorney represented families of two police officers and a dispatcher killed by Devin Moore, reputed Grand Theft Auto fan.

The recommended charges from Tunis will be sent to the Florida Supreme Court by September 2nd, which will tender a ruling alongside possible disciplinary action—such as disbarment—against Thompson. Tunis will also preside over a disciplinary hearing for possible sanctions against Thompson on June 4th.

Among the numerous misconduct recommendations were charges that Thompson knowingly made a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal, employed tactics meant to embarrass or delay a third person, and engaged in dishonest, fraudulent, or otherwise deceptive conduct.

The outspoken Thompson is perhaps the most vocal and noteworthy opponent of the gaming industry, and has previously brought legal action against numerous game developers, publishers, and retailers. Thompson most recently wrote a letter to GTA publisher Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick's mother on Mother's Day, comparing the chairman to a Hitler Youth. [/blockquote]

SWEET!!!

Although... I wouldn't call him noteworthy. Pretty much an embarrassment to the legal profession.

Jack Thompson is the kind of guy that assumes you will burn someone to death for playing Pyro or stab someone in real life for playing Spy. He puts the blame of all violence on games, which is absolutely ridiculous.

R.E.D., you mean that not all the world's ills are caused by video games?? That's just not possible! We were all a peace-loving people until... Pong... :-)

it's funny how ppl think that playing video games leads to crimes.. i mean ive played lots and lots of shooting games.. but i dont want to shot anybody... i think xD

I wonder how many parties there were last night? I'm sure there was cake somewhere at Rockstar last night.

I don't think there are words to express how funny that is Ninjafluff....

It was all only a matter of time....granted it was far longer than anyone had hoped, but thankfully it finally happened. :P

If I recall, he actually had his right to bring cases to court in his own name revoked a while back...guess some people never learn their lesson.

^^^ I Agree...

Wait, I don't get it. The article says "blah blah blah is suggesting that he be found guilty." Has he actually been sentenced yet?

So, I was reading [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_(attorney)]the Wikipedia article on Thompson[/link], and died laughing when I read this paragraph.

[blockquote]In February 2008, The Florida Supreme Court ordered Thompson to show cause as to why it should not reject future court filings from him unless they are signed by another Florida Bar member. The Florida Supreme Court described his filings as "repetitive, frivolous and insult[ing to] the integrity of the court," particularly one in which Thompson, claiming concern about "the court's inability to comprehend his arguments," filed a motion including images of "swastikas, kangaroos in court, a reproduced dollar bill, cartoon squirrels, Paul Simon, Paul Newman, Ray Charles, a handprint with the word 'slap' written under it, Bar Governor Benedict P. Kuehne, a baby, Ed Bradley, Jack Nicholson, Justice Clarence Thomas, Julius Caesar, monkeys, [and] a house of cards." Thompson claimed that the order "wildly infringes" on his constitutional rights and was "a brazen attempt" to repeal the First Amendment right to petition the government to redress grievances. In response, he sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, referring to the show-cause order as a criminal act done in retaliation for his seeking relief with the court.[/blockquote]

He is such a wacko. It's amazing to watch him descend into complete madness.

hes crazy, and yeah video games cause no harm, i mean at most they cause us to be lazy thus how would we kill anyone cause we saw it in a game if we're too lazy to do anything?

pong, man that was a bloody era......

anyways if they did cause us to be violent, could you really see people going around and saying "bonk" as they hit some on the head with a metal bat? or trying to build a sentry gun on their neighbors front lawn trying to take them out?
