Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone that is taking the time to review this thread (as I?ll do my best to make this short). With that being said, there is a matter that I feel should be addressed as it affects us everyday TTT administrators. I?m requesting my fellow administrators to voice their opinions about possibly having ttt_closequarters_pg_v4 removed (also known as RDMquarters) from our cycle of maps. Do you agree? Disagree? Both? Why? Is this even possible? Leave your comments below. Everyone whom has played or plays this map on a regular basis knows that it condones players to violate our server rules and potentially get away with them. Unless you are spending 100% of the time in spectate and reviewing third party tools, it is virtually impossible to execute violations accordingly (especially by yourself).

As administrators we have a motto; that is to play first, and admin second. However, how exactly is that supposed to be done under these circumstances? An alternative to this matter that has been brought up would be to give eGO members the ability to change the map itself. However, this isn?t a solution at all for multiple reasons. First off, it is against server rules to influence the vote. Additionally, there is a chance that this tool or feature could be abused (just a band-aid over the situation). I feel as though the only reprieve to this would be to remove this map indefinitely. What do you think?

To be honest, I only ever like the map when I'm a traitor, which doesn't make for much of an enjoyable experience on the server. Just for a quality of life change, I feel the server would greatly change with the removal. And from an admin's perspective... Oh dear lord, just remove it already.

C CtrlAltDelicious Thank you for bringing this matter up, for I think this map should be removed for a few reasons.

1) since the T's can open the door located downstairs from a far distance they sit back and bait the innos to go in by opening and they repeat this over and over and sit back and watch all the innos kill themselves.

2) with so many innos killing each other it sometimes gets hard to tell which is an actual rdm and which was a T-room KOS and with the players in game we can never be sure if they are correct on the rdm or are just trying to get a innocent person kicked. I'm not just saying this off a whim I've seen people try and lie to get others kicked.

3) which this has already been said. if there is only 1-2 admins on, for them to correctly tell if something is rdm or not is to go to spectator mode which most admin including myself don't mind doing but it would still get hectic with 1 or more rdms happening each round. Yes we can call in other admins but by chance if they are busy or it's a slow day for admins then u maybe in trouble.

4) majority of the time this map doesn't even stay on for it's full lengths, after countless times of rdms even the players get tired and rtv the map, which imo I say ya sure no more rdm-headquarters.

All of this is my opinion, others can see it differently

Thanks for reading this.

Well to be fair, innos going to the t room is T baiting (T baiting is doing anything thats considered a traitorous act as an inno). So they are breaking the rules by trying to go in which causes rdm. This map isn't the problem, it's the players. I actually like this map because it has the least amount of delay. It's just being small makes it more prone for rdm off location/sound since everyone is so close by.

Dont remove it, learn the rules instead

Just RTV..?

Both of these comments are completely void of constructive criticism. This is a healthy discussion on a real issue. If you aren't going to post anything helpful, then don't post at all.

I won't give my input yet, but so far it seems that the main issue runs with admins having a practical impossible time to enjoy the game because of the amount of problems that arise in the map.

Keep up the great discussion!

Thanks BeastTheNinja BeastTheNinja for your response. Aside from the plethora of issues, I do agree that the Traitor Room is undoubtedly one of the main problems. However, I'm not entirely positive that it is possible to remove this feature itself. From an administrator standpoint, it is effortless to evaluate a single player violating a server rule. However, it is proved difficult to moderate when you have an overabundance of reports simultaneously coming in at once (4-5). Additionally, this requires that you take time to review third party tools (videos etc), sit in spectate to watch those videos as well as following up with players and before you know it you are backed up like a McDonalds Drive Thru on a Friday night. On a side note, I have sent you a friend request so that you can contact me about any issues in-game.

Thanks again BeastTheNinja BeastTheNinja

NP i do my best to be positive and give a good influence on such things

I think it's a great map to play on, but rdm is a serious problem on it. I enjoy the map when I play on it, because it is extremely fun to be a T. I personally don't think it should be removed, but I do agree that changes need to happen. I am with BeastTheNinja BeastTheNinja , we should change the map to become more beginner friendly. The map itself is great and very popular among the regular players, so it probably won't be a good idea to take it out completely.

I think the map can cause a lot of RDM if players don’t know how to play the game but I don’t think it should be removed. The map is fun to play when the server is not full. I think the map should stay people just need to learn to let people ID bodies before full spraying at every gunshot they see.

I feel that I'm the wrong person to answer and comment on this, since I honestly enjoy admining more than playing the game most of the time.

.. BUT! I don't think it's THAT bad. As long as you're a fast typer, and you use console instead of chat (to repeat psays), then it's pretty easy to admin. The only hard thing is keeping track of the open and shut cases (Which can sometimes be 2-4 cases, if you're a lone admin on the server).

Honestly, people are pretty awesome at accepting their RDM, if you just explain to them WHY you cannot take action as an admin. Explain the procedure and the lack of evidence, and problem is basically solved.

Again, please refer to my first statement if you think I'm crazy.

Yesterday while we were playing and close-quarters came up, half the lobby left in the first 2-3 rounds and with like 14 people on which 6 were admins the map was fun due to no rdm but that isn't always the case. I agree with you that the map is fun but on full it can be super chaos. When I get on I usually expect one of these guys on C CtrlAltDelicious , DeaG DeaG , TehRaddish, Divine, dys dys which makes it a lot easier cause they do their job well when it comes to admin chat and complaints, so if these guys are all on while close-quarters is full then Its ok cause then each person can take one of the 6 complaints each round or 2. If not and there is only like 1-2 admins on full......Good Luck.

Personally, I would like to thank everyone for participating in this discussion thus far. By illustrating your opinions, alternatives, solutions and other commentary has been a more than satisfactory to review (as this has been a rather healthy debate on all aspects of the thread). :thumbup1:

Well... I'll have you know I actually like the map, (probably because I'm a horrible TTT admin). Overall I do agree with most the statements made here and think removing the map would be for the best.

To be fair, there are always rdm on ANY map when players don't know how to play the game.

Ok all you admins PUMP THE BREAKS. We don't have the server for you. Or to make your job easier. A lot of our players REALLY enjoy this map. Even in the chaos. So I urge you not to jump to the easy mode of just removing the map, but challenging you to rise up and fix what needs to be fixed about it. Or fix the rules. But not the easy way out. The easy way is never the best solution.

I'd like you to elaborate on this. While yes, the maps are not JUST for admins, but admins (believe it or not) are players as well. And extremely dedicated ones at that since it takes a large amount of devotion to our servers to become an admin.

So I'd like it for my admins to be happy with the gameplay and not be so off-put by a map that they leave. I'd like you not to just say "Don't take the easy way out, blah blah blah". I want you to give elaboration on how to fix things.

I await this response C CanadianProsty

I agree that this map should be removed, it has a notorious reputation for RDM and confusing T rooms leaving everyone at odds. I remember not being able to handle all RDM reports as 3-2 reports would come in every round. The layout of the map causes confusing and allows you to only see half of the situations and causes people to make risky mistakes, not to mention the massive RDM of people going into the T room to "pursue the Ts in there." The map is a general disruption to the server and the main reason people like it is because of the chaos that is created on that map. It would be best to either remove the T rooms or better yet remove it from the cycle.

I can just edit the map, make it so that camping the traitor room would be either deadly, or impossible. Also, any other bad stuff I can address aswell.
