Shot for Shot

This game can only be played in an LR. Both players must be at the opposite side of each other at the specified location, once both players are at that location, the shooting may begin - running out of the zone does not pause the game. If shooting begins before the specified location, then the Guard is cheating or the Prisoner is rebelling (depending on who shot first) - this rule is implied unless stated otherwise.

What update we need

The rules say that it is mandatory for the T's to give the Location to play Shot4Shot, if not, they are Rebelling. (Confirmed by Custom Stats)
That rule is mostly neglected by 98% of the server and its literally not necessary.

If a new player as T's selects Shot 4 Shot with Ct's and they just start to shoot because they don't know they must specify location and then get killed because its considered rebelling is just cancer.

The line : If shooting begins before the specified location, then the Guard is cheating or the Prisoner is rebelling (depending on who shot first) - this rule is implied unless stated otherwise.
Should be updated or removed. For me, it meant like if the T says S4S at pool and starts shooting before they reach pool, that is called rebelling/cheating.
But the Managers say that it is considered rebelling if the T's don't specify the location.

As an active admin of Jailbreak, we follow it like : If the T starts shooting first, we consider it as Basic Rules (No healing / Cheating) unless the T starts cheating.
So if we can get the rule updated/fixed/removed will be really great! Thanks!

I mean if they're delaying then shoot them, if they're new guide them, if they're rebels end them. We figured this out years ago, I dunno how this popular server lacks such basic theories of how to handle LRs or well a lot of stuff...

I'll take Common Sense for 200 Alex.

That's what I told to the Managers that we gonna use the common sense. He did agree with me but this rule is still a rule. So I'm trying to get it fixed ASAP.

Well currently we are talking about a rule which got highlighted from nowhere that T's are considered rebelling if they don't give out location. I want this Toxic Rule to be removed.

It's not really toxic of a rule. At most it prevents them from delaying or just shooting w/o stating where they want the game.

Tell them they need a location defined before they play.

COMMUNICATE this to the players.

If 40+ people are dead do you really want to sit there while they figure out where to play or if they want to start shooting CTs there and thus basically trying to rebel or cheat...

If I've been dead for 5 or 6 minutes, I want the round to end not go on longer. Killing rebels / delayers / cheaters just means they forfeit and want to die thus giving a conclusion to the round.

Yeah I agree that this isn't enforced or followed. If a T chooses S4S and starts shooting without specifying a location/rules its implied as basic rules. If a CT receives first bullet he can't shoot unless the T specifies no rules/basic rules. Rule needs a 2018 update and hopefully its going to happen soon ;)

We also need clarification on the difference from no rules and basic rules. As of now, according to the FAQ, if a T says no rules that means NO rules. Meaning CT and T can cheat in any imaginable way. While basic rules imply no cheating.

I need not to saying anything but read this. That is all I will say as of now. Great post Rogue

Bruh.... Think from the perspective of the new player joining on the server. If he selects S4S and says "Let's starts" and the the CT tricks the T by healing and then saying "you didn't say basic rules" will be really really Stupid. Always make the new players joining the server not feel that this server got complicated stuff.

I completely agree with this point that most players do not know you have to set rules before starting the game, especially new players. I would 100% be in support of removing the necessity of mentioning a location in shot4shot. I feel the sudden highlight on this rule would cause a large amount of confusion and would additionally cause a large amount of unneeded incredibly kill-hungry CTs.

Mayhem Death Mayhem Death

So Managers want us to Highlight this rule from now? The kill hungry CT's won't make the server enjoyable :/

Coming from pG to eGO, it's always been if a T starts shooting in s4s then its basic rules and u fight anywhere as long as your not delaying. I don't know why things have to be so difficult as in, "If T/CT shoots before location has been set or shoots before getting to the specify location then he is rebelling or CT is cheating". I'm sorry but this hasn't been a thing since I been in pG and coming to eGO. It might of been the rule, but it was never enforced nor did anybody complain about it. So, why not just change the rule to not have this "If T/CT shoots before location has been set or shoots before getting to the specify location then he is rebelling or CT is cheating"? Keep it the way it has always been?

Agreed
We all want to keep the server Fun and Healthy. Enforcing that rule will only bring up more kill hungry CT's and won't be fun anymore.
We do need this rule Removed soon.

Not sure why you tagged me again, but thank you? Anywho, my Managers want you to highlight EVERY rule in our rulebook, not just the ones you like. When there is a rule in our rulebook, we expect the admins to be enforcing them. Now, of course if there are rules that have a lot of backlash and hate from the community (as it shows here) then we will look at it and more than likely get it changed so the stability/fun of the server can stay the way it is.

With that, I will say this: I will talk with Custom and Epic and we will get it worked out. Cheers mates

that's not at all what I said. It's been implied for quite some time now if the T simply says "We can start" or if he starts shooting without saying anything basic rules is implied. The only reason a CT should cheat is when the T says "No rules" or if the T starts to cheat himself.

Just wanna make it clear we should change this rule because as of now the understanding from most players including admins is that once the T starts shooting without saying a location it implies "anywhere is the location, just dont cheat my LR"

Main reason I believe this rule was added was how some mentioned above it would prevent T's from cheesing the CT's and starting shot4shot and instantly one tapping an unaware CT.

I had a proposal a while back that ALL lr's should have a countdown timer similar to No scope that way it can prevent the CT's from getting aged sharp cheddar cheesed.

Jacko Jacko is exactly right. I recall the rule being in place back on pG for the issue of Ts just cheesing CTs with shot4shot similarly to how plenty are doing with knife fight and gun toss now. (This may have also been before the shot for shot restriction plugin and it was more on an honor system to shoot in turn 1 bullet at a time.)

I feel like the LR system needs a major overhaul because the games should be a fun and fair mini-game between the T and the CT. Instead it has turned into a list of which game is the easiest to cheese CTs with for easy kills without technically rebelling. If anything the kill hungry aspect plays more on the Ts part here as players just find the best loophole to kill as many CTs as possible without the threat of another CT killing them for rebelling.

Count downs for games like knife fight and a cheat detection for dodge ball would help with this, but with the current state of Gun Toss already being massively used for this purpose if you change those two LR games gun toss cheesing will likely just become more common than it already is.

Side note since it's somewhat related perhaps a look into something about Ts delaying LR indefinitely since the way it's currently policed on the server allows them to sit in an LR for the entire remainder of the round sometimes up to around 6+ minutes just doing nothing or running around doing secrets. Sometimes they don't bother to LR at all if the Warden doesn't set a proper time or purposely makes it 1 second. I've seen a lot of newer people in the server getting frustrated having to sit through that time and time again; especially during the less popular hours.

I am pretty sure u didn't read the thread completely.

Yea thought this was a different thread, didn't even bother reading what it was about. There was a similar thread about Shot for Shot on TTT.

this is great news thanks, maybe i actually want to play jb and be the guard

on ttt divine we are not allowed to play minigames since that is considered server distruption and delay, and can be kicked for it

The AT Team is working on updating the rules and FAQ. Be on the lookout for it!
