Removing umbrella as the default map

Hiya,

After the server crashes or resets, the default map is Jb_umbrella. Imo it's not a very enjoyable map.

Can we look into changing it?

Honestly, the default map should be changed like bi-weekly or monthly to a map that is underplayed on the server. I had this idea a while back but never suggested it.

I like the idea of the default map rotating, but jb_umbrella is not a bad map, it is just hated since it is the default map the server resets to when the server crashes. I am sure that if jb_clouds or jb_undertale were the default map, it would quickly be hated as well.

I think when the sever crashes it should go back to the map it was on prior to the crash, that way if servers are down short term people can just carry on as normal. But it also means if it?s longer term, the chances are the map won?t be umbrella. Seems practical to me!

jb_clouds used to be the default map then changed it everyone was complaining about it and umbrella is a decent map you just need to find the things that make it great

But umbrella was a good, or so map. And at least the only map I knew how to play when the merge happened. I think the problem for that map is that it's built for 32 players, and not 64. So, I guess +0


And by the way, a bi-weekly change of a default map is unneeded work for tech. -1 on that.

Additionally, you should provide some facts on why the map should be removed, I'm pretty sure saying, bad map lol got no one, anywhere

I agree that the default map should be changed to another underplayed map, such as jb_pleasework or jb_mist. Since the panoramic update server crashes and resets have been much more prevalent and umbrella is becoming sickening.

I also like the idea of the default map being changed after each quarter or half year to spice things up.

It is a possibility to rotate the default map bi-weekly/monthly, we are talking about this kind of access in Leadership. When it comes to maps getting stale, it can be re-innovated by the way that you play it. That is where dynamic play style can help you make the maps more fun. That is just my belief though.

I agree that every Warden can bring in a new dynamic and play style to any map. The main reason for this suggestion was because we were seeing numerous of crashes a day and we were playing umbrella way too many times. Ever since the implementation of THIS plug-in the server crashes has been decreased drastically so no more playing umbrella 5x a day.

I dont think we should implement a new default map as a bi weekly/monthly cycle, however, I do think its time for a new default map. We've had umbrella as a default map since the beginning of last year, its about to hit the 2 year mark!
