Whenever you get sapped for "1:3 Ratio" you should be moved to #1 in Queue

So sometimes you get swapped from CT to T to maintain a 1:3 ratio, whenever you get swapped you should be 1st in the queue. For example CT X got swapped = #1 in queue, CT Y got swapped = #2 in queue , and so on so forth.

Drewerth Drewerth Is it fair to the people that got unlucky and got swapped for the stupid 1:3 Ratio? I wouldn't mind if there was a thing that automatically swapped people for playing on ct for too long, like if you have 20 min into ct you would get swapped and couldn't join ct for the rest of the map. Just so the people in queue could join and play CT as well.

It would seem unfair to me if the people who just got done playing CT got first priority to become CT again. Personally I think the system is balanced and does not need to be changed.

What do you mean by got done playing CT. If you are done playing ct why be in queue, you could just leave the queue if you got swapped for 1:3 ratio. I hate whenever there's a bunch of people on I got like 5 min of ct and than I get swapped for 1:3 ratio and have to wait through the whole queue to get in, whenever it happens I usually don't get back onto ct

I already suggested this, and it was shut down for unclear reasons that weren't explained in PMs at all after the thread was closed. Thank you.

They were never really done playing CT, they were just swapped randomly. It's literally random as to who gets swapped from CT, and its really unfair to those people when they are forced to requeue.

I'm really open to debating this.

It already takes me 15 minutes to get into CT. To hell if you think I'm waiting even longer.

So its fair for other people to suffer due to your inconvenience? I want to reiterate that these CTs did nothing wrong, and are just being randomly swapped.

I feel that the need for CT cycling is a whole different discussion, one that I would love to have an easy solution with. I do not think that randomly being swapped and plopped at the end of the queue is a good way to manage more CTs than the ratio allows.

Personally I feel that if a CT gets randomly swapped because of 1:3 ratio then he should be bumped back to the top of the CT queue. He was already first in queue so he should maintain that priority.

I also agree that CT's should be regularly rotated to diversify the game. I'd like to see like a half-time team swap where CT's who have been CT 30 mins+ get swapped to T.

Okay, let's do some hard thinking.

Game starts on a new map, full T side. Full CT side. The CT queue is at 8. Over the course of the game 2 CTs leave, and Ts bump around by 4 to 8 players. Logicially, this makes it impossible for the second half of the queue to ever become a CT.

So yes, it is fair. Everyone gets their fair shot at CT, otherwise there will never be a true rotation that doesn't also jeapordize the game.

This issue would be better addressed (as stated above) by limiting CTs to 30 minutes per map if there are others with max priority in queue. There are, undoubtedly, other ways to have a CT cycle, but 1:3 ratio should not be one of them. This would belong on an entirely different suggestion.

Being randomly swapped should not plop you at the end of the queue, and I'm not following your logic on this one, as it is unfair to random CTs while the Ts leave the game.

If you view the 1:3 ratio swap as a good way of cycling CTs, you shouldn't. Its random, unreliable, and just plain unfair.

EDIT: CTs also get swapped (or voluntarily swap because they get bored of CT) fairly often over the course of a map. I think you would be surprised just how many accidental freekills there actually are. There already is a natural CT cycle, and 1:3 ratio should not be included into this system.

How about you don't swap to CT when there are lots of others playing already. And "these" people aren't suffering anything, it's just luck. Just like it's luck that I get away with killing someone or not.

The CT queue doesn't need to be changed, in my opinion.

You are asking for a feature that would benefit one person at a time and possibly puts the remaining ppl in queue at disadvantage. Not a fair balance.

I generally don't queue for CT anyways. Even if I did get on CT at every opportunity, I see no connection between my personal choices as a player and this discussion.

EDIT: I think you mean that I shouldn't be joining CT at all when there are already a lot of CTs?
My response to that would be that even if I as an individual don't, it is virtually guaranteed that other players will. We're not trying to solve this issue by changing every individual players' habits.

The way that guard queue works is that you will get put onto the CT side based on queue if you are needed (there are currently more Ts on the 1:3 ratio than CTs). Simply based on the mechanic of the CT side this argument doesn't make sense.

Whats that supposed to mean?

"these" people aren't suffering anything, it's just luck. Just like it's luck that I get away with killing someone or not.
Random chance (at least in terms of core game mechanics) should be eliminated wherever possible to provide the fairest gaming experience. If you disagree with me there, that's a matter of principle.

Whether or not you get away with killing somebody has no relevance to this discussion. While I understand the point that you are trying to make, it is an inevitability that random chance will exist (having good map knowledge/skill will help a lot with 'getting away' though). Again, this is one of the things that I would consider a core game mechanic (something that is completely out of the control of the players).

You are asking for a feature that would benefit one person at a time and possibly puts the remaining ppl in queue at disadvantage. Not a fair balance.
Are you telling me that you have never been swapped for 1:3 ratio?

I'm pretty sure that this argument applies more to me than it does you; if one person has a bad pc and loads in late, does that mean that a random CT should get plucked out of the CT side and put into the end of the queue (Again, remember that this doesn't happen all the time either. Only when Ts leave the game, making the 1:3 ratio unabalanced) so that a different individual will get onto CT sooner once more players join?

It's unfair to every individual that has been swapped for 1:3 ratio, and then forced to sit through the entire queue to play CT again.

Max priority kid get with the game

I have a max priority.

Anyway

Regardless of, Mayhem and I have covered the handling of the CT Queue and ratio swaps as they pertain to JB. Neither of these limitations are on the planning board, and it's unlikely they will ever be.

Well that's a matter of luck, and that discussion should be left for a seperate suggestion thread.

Like I said, there can be so many people waiting in the queue, and just because one guy got unlucky, doesn't mean the remaining people waiting in the queue should have to give up their spot for that guy.

I think you're arguing for utilitarianism here, which while good in theory, becomes questionable when it is forced on somebody.

One of the best examples against such a philosophy is, in a way, what we have here, the extreme version of which is as follows: "Is it moral to harvest somebody else's organs to donate to others (even without consent)?" By a strict interpretation of utilitarianism, the answer is yes, because you are sacrificing the well being of one individual for a widespread gain in well being for others.

Bear in mind this is an extreme example, so I can point out the flaw in your argument.

There's lots of interesting discussion when it comes down to moral theory (and this is just glancing the surface), but in short, my stance is that it is immoral (unfair) to force somebody to randomly somebody just so that others can move up in the queue.

Now, on the topic of CT cycling, if this 1:3 ratio were enacted based on the CT with the most time on the CT side at the moment that 1:3 ratio were violated, I would be ok with putting them at the bottom of the queue.

S Sampaio would you like to be that unlucky one and get swapped? Think about this scenario: You load in late, your queue is 9, you wait 30min to become a ct, (You might also want to be warden to play an under rated game, and that it self might take a long time. 1. Get warden, 2. Kill the rebelers 3. Play the game) you than get 1/2 short rounds as a ct and than the next round you get swapped back to T and the queue is like 12 and you have to sit as a T and wait untill you get CT again, and you just know you won't get CT.

There should be a plugin to swap CT's after a certain amount of time. Than everyone would have a chance to play as a CT.
