So a csgo update came out featuring battle royal. It came out about 10-20 min ago and I just want to see what you guys think of this. They made csgo free and made a battle royal, valve is SERIOUSLY money hungry. I have not played it YET but I will soon.

Now that I think of it, this brings in more cheaters. If csgo will be on ps4 than they will all quit bc of the cheaters, ONLY of they get a bigger player base some how.

Well maybe not more cheaters, but its a lot easier to cheat now. You get banned? Make new steam acc and download csgo, which will take like 5 min since you already have the files.

F2P might mean more cheaters, but i guess i don't have to coax anyone to buy it anymore. They are late to BR mode but I am glad they are still adding "free" content into the game.

The Battle Royale mode isnt actually bad. It has some unique aspects that gives it a nice CS take and style. I won my second match and carried Big Normie. Will be playing more in the future.

Logically, I think you’re right but I don’t think Valve isn’t aware of this. My guess is that they’re going to implement some sort of system to combat hackers (an i.p. ban, perhaps maybe a hardware ban since the former is easily to circumvent). I remember reading somewhere that the hardware (i.e the serial number ban was already done but can’t remember if it was valve).

I’m interested in knowing if the f2p will result in an influx in new players in JB and TTT.

By effectively removing the cost of entry, I think the potential is endless. I just hope it’s for the better.

And btw making it free will only get valve more money and keep cheaters unbanned from nonprime. Cheaters make people want to upgrade.

its.. fun in a troll kind of way. but no incentive to play. no reason to play it outside of having fun. the gamemode itself isnt really as fun as i thought it could have been, and waiting 3 minutes in queue, 2 minutes for people to join, and 5 minutes of looting just to die and do it all again is blegh. Its gonna lose its charm quick, and no way itll catch on. people will still 100% prefer to play other BRs, or continue their competitive grind for cs experience. Its got some neat ideas for BR, but nothing that fits into the idea that is cs.

Honestly the big game changer is the f2p aspect. Casual matchmaking is already a shithole and im sure its not gonna improve a damn thing. I dont think hackers will rise to bigger numbers, but i have a feeling that smurfing will be a bigger issue.

Battle Royale is super cool, but a bit wonky. The ammo system and drop times for buying things should be increased cuz I literally had 24 bullets for ALL of my guns. Played with dys and Summer and we got a dub so I guess that was fun. Autoturrets are annoying as hell. The new skins look hella nice and I might pick up the AK skin in like a month or two when it dies down. I think the F2P csgo is gonna ruin matchmaking and faceit. Upgrading all previous accounts to prime just gave em a free pass to cheat on prime servers. I’ll be testing out mm at master guardian this weekend to see how much it’ll change

At first I was like f u Valve this isn't the counterstrike I've been playing for 15 years. But then me and Chaonyx did some serious battle and it turns out that it's not half bad. for me it's a much needed break from the non-stop Dust2 comp matches.

The br was alright tbh. I am glad to see they made it free to play though even though there will probably be more cheaters
