A common problem on the jailbreak server that has been frustrating lately has been afk admins who are not in spectator mode. I know admins are on the server to have fun, not just admin. AFK admins however, cause problems because it blocks VIP's from being able to initiate vote kicks and bans. I would like to, if it is possible, have a voteswap command that can be used when (say only 1 or 2) admins are online and not in spectator. This command would have to be treated just like the vote bans and kicks and abuse would obviously lead to a your dedicated support rank being revoked with no refund, etc.

I am posting this here in order to ask people's opinions on this. Or, how it could be adjusted in order to make sure abuse of this does not occur. So.... thoughts?

Edit: The command doesn't have to be a /voteswap either. It could be the allowance of vote kick while 1 or 2 admins are online. When the vote kick is initiated, the admins online could have a pop up that lets them deny it. If they dont respond the real vote happens.
This idea came to me because of today, Toby (eGO) was online. I do not think he is a jb admin but regardless he was afk and online so we could not vote kick a guy named "Pure" who was repeatedly unintentionally free killing.

What Apt Apt said really sums it well "It seems like people are misunderstanding the purpose behind the post, this isn't about donators being Admin's but instead about being able to use the permissions they are given whilst an Admin isn't actually present within the game whilst still being connected.

The obvious solution is to message the Admin online at the time either using the report feature or private message to ask for their attention on the server or simply ask another member of staff if they're able to jump on to the server.

The feature presented is nothing more than a way for online and about to be AFK staff members to be able to return any moderation over to the Dedicated Supporters in the event of a major disruption as C Corrupted has previously explained."

TLDR We need a way to get around the problem that is admins going afk for an extended period of time without being in spectator mode.

I'd assume that an Admin not following through with their duties whilst on the server would be grounds for demotion after a certain amount of warnings or time. It's a voluntary position in which you decide upon taking to forfeit your own enjoyment for that of others within the community.

The voteswap command isn't such a bad idea, If the above isn't such a big issue within the Leadership's eyes I think such an implementation could work but with a few changes.
Instead I think it should be a vote to online eG's and eGO's that can be requested by dedicated supporters... If the majority of online staff decide to allow the request then dedicated supporters are now allowed to moderate and cast votes on bans and kicks.
The Admin's will also need a means to revoke said voting permission from the dedicated supporters if they then decide to take on the moderation of the server, votestop? I'm not sure, but I like the idea.

Simon You dislike the post but dont give a reason why. Do you have a reasoning for being against this being added?

I can't be upset with admins for not wanting to admin at all times, sometimes they just want to enjoy playing. Also, I often alt-tab for a while. I can see an online admin die, alt tab to work on something such as homework and then tab back in. I just want something implemented that will allow free killers to be punished without the blocks that the server's set up causes. I really just want this added for when there are only 1 or 2 admins on. Any more than that and there are more than likely at least 1 of them actively admin(ing?)

he can dislike if he dont like it, he dont have to make a respond to why, but you can hear me out. vip getting that command thats just pay to admin, admin afking, yeah that happens because they got something to do, and if you want more about it, make a CL to know more about how admins are and how they are admining, and yeah its a super bad idea, no more response to that its a bad idea, to get that command

I'm not saying he cant just dislike the post. I was asking the reasoning behind it.

Isnt dedicated supporter already pay - to - admin? We have vote kick and ban for when there are no admins ONLINE. I'm just asking for a way that allows us to do the same with admins who are afk, which is the equivalent of being offline.

Edit: It doesnt have to be a vote swap command either. It could just be allowing vote kick when there are afk admins. I just dont personally like vote kicking because if the player is new, they might never rejoin the server.

You're supposed to use your dedicated supported permissions only if there's a major disruption aka mfk, mic spam, there's a hacker etc. You're not buying admin, you decided to help eGO financially so they give you some perks, not admin powers. If there's a problem and someone has freekilled you report it to the admins, if there's an admin online, let him handle the situation, not you. After all they got trained for it.

That changes nothing. If someone MFK's and the admins are afk. We can submit a ban report and wait.... that happened last night and we had the same person MFK across 3 maps multiple times. Admins are not always available and when they are not, a vip can stop things like that from happening.

Call an admin? You an use the symbol "&" to report something and every admin sees it. I could agree with something where you can vote kick/ban while an admin is in SPECTATOR. Your suggestion asks for dedicated supporters to have permission to request a vote kick/ban whiles an admin is online, just report the situation to the admins, if it's a mass free kill then the admin can check logs. If it's racism, use shadowplay to get it and send it to the admin. If it's mic spam then just report it to the admin and then the admin will keep an eye on that person.

His suggestion was to be able to call vote kick/ban whiles an admin is online, if an admin is going to go afk then within a certain period of time they're going to get moved to spectator. DS should not have permissions such as swap.

The whole point it to stop repeated offenses. Calling an admin isnt instant. Reporting on the forums isnt instant. When the MFK's were happening last night, I called admins, and steam messaged several. It still took until 3 maps later for an admin to get on. I'm not trying to undemine admins authority. I'm trying to stop freekillers, and other players from ruining my, and other players time.

"For not wanting to admin at all times", I'm no admin but I've heard multiple admins complaining about them having 5 reports about little things and it's common sense that they can't do something about 1 or 2 reports. Admins have a lot to do, and it's all for free. You have to understand that an admin can't moderate everything whiles there's 20 players online and there's only one admin which is them. I RARELY report free damage, I know that it just adds work for the admin, the little things make the big things.

Why are you responding to this? This has no addition to the post. You are arguing against this for the sake of arguing.
I'm not complaing about admins while they are ONLINE. Most of the admins are great and do everything they can while online. I'm complaining about AFK admins.

Which is down to lack of detail and clarity within the post, which is exactly the reason why I provided further detail in addition to what had already been suggested. You can dislike the idea, it just seems that people are responding to this post with a hint of hostility which I believe to be down to a misunderstanding of the suggestions intent.

Again I'll reiterate... This is not about Dedicated Supporters becoming Admin's and all the power is within the Admin's control hence the "votestop" addition within my post. The Admin's decide whether to allow or disallow Dedicated Supporters to be able to cast votes during a major disruption whilst there is staff absent.

You're suggesting that you have VIP powers whiles admins are online and not afk. I would agree if DS would be able to vote kick/ban players whiles the admin is afk in spectator. Also understand that admins can't be online 24/7, they have IRL stuff to do, maybe a project for school that they have to do on their PC. Imagine this, you're an admin and you're hanging out with your family eating your dinner together, you have your phone with you, you start hearing the steam message notification about a MFK, now you have to go upstairs for like 5 minutes. Now you check logs or any video proof etc, ban the person, copy and paste all the logs or get the video evidence and then remember about you're ban notes or do them right after you banned that person, then you might also get like 5 reports about people complaining about something. There's multiple things you can do: Go on teamspeak, message an admin on steam, go on discord, report it with &, ask in the shoutbox.

So basically the VIP asks the admins if he can admin? This is making the vip become an admin, he's taking the situation into his own hands while he could give it to an admin who could just check the logs and then just ban him. If it's a MFK then the admin will probably get influenced by it because they probably died to it and could ban the person, if it's mic spam then just report it once and the admin might go into spectator act afk and wait for the person to mic spam again, if it's racism just use shadowplay and give it to the admin.

You seem to be missing the point. Admins don't respond to these all the time. If an admin go AFK while ON T side and does not come. There is a huge window of time where a player can continuously break rules with no punishment. This is for when admins are AFK while not in spectators. If they lowered the time it takes to be switched to spectator, that could also be a potential solution. I'll bring up last night again. We had 1 afk admin on T side the entire time. He did not return. The same account MFK'd a stack 3 times. Map switched. He continued under different names. If the admin was pushed to spectate faster or a DEDICATED SUPPORTER could simply VOTE SWAP the person for 15 minutes which would add ct bans, that could be all the difference between killing a stack once and ruining a single round, or ruining an entire map.

I'm sorry C Corrupted but you're rambling a little here buddy and this is becoming too argumentative... You've stated your opinion and the explanation has been provided.
Please stop replying to avoid further argument unless there is something constructive to add.

I'm not trying to make it argumentative but I will to show the reasoning behind the making the potential change. I'm trying to show how much the small change could fix. He seems completely opposed to it under the only reason of "get an admin" while ignoring the argument I am making.
