So I have a few suggestions for the server as well as some possible balance changes. After playing a decent amount of time as civilian I've noticed that:

1. The black market prices are extremely high, it takes a good amount of time to run turtles for instance for a weapon that you will simply lose once you are killed. I think a potential fix for this might be to lower the prices on the black market for the basic assault rifle. I find it quite high at $300,000, and if you were to do a turtle run I believe you would feel the same. There is also an extremely high risk of even amassing this amount of money in the first place. While moving turtles at every turn you risk losing your entire load, which is hours down the drain. I'm not saying that everyone should be able to purchase a rifle, but most of the prices at the black market are extremely skewed in my mind currently.

2. You aren't able to purchase kevlar in the black market. I believe that this should be a logical addition and should be priced reasonably, or simply added to the gun stores.

3. Is there a possibility of adding a test drive feature to the car dealerships? If so I believe this would be a great addition, especially because you aren't able to see the listed speeds of the cars and I believe that the speeds have been changed on certain cars. As well as to test the handling, some cars handle like absolute garbage. But you wouldn't really know, without driving them first.

4. *edited*

5. If possible a seat belt script I think would be pretty nice, it would add a little bit of immersion to the server.

To sum up most of my ideas, I would say that the server in it's current state is way too police heavy. There's no reason to save the $1,000,000 for the heavy sniper, or even $300,000 for a rifle. But to even have a chance of having a successful robbery in most situations, you're required to sit back at range with something that isn't a pistol that will tickle someone at range.

I play a civilian on the server, and I have to agree with his points. I've been told by cops to simply purchase a rifle, or even told I wasn't smart enough to get a sniper and position myself better.

My #1 issue is to have a chance of even getting these guns off the market, I have to wait for cops to be on to even start. After the cops are on, I have to take several hours (roughly), to come out with about 400-450k. During these several hours, at any point, the police can come raid me, outclass me with their guns, and chances are I'm losing everything or a good chunk of it.

ASSUMING I get lucky and avoid the cops, I can then purchase a rifle. With this rifle, after extreme risk and several hours of work, I can now challenge the police. And even at that point, if I make one mistake, I lose my several hours of work, and the cops lose nothing.

I'm not saying I want the black market to be dirt cheap, it should cost a decent amount. But right now, the odds are so slanted towards the officers on this server, and civilians realistically don't stand a chance. I would just like to be able to go toe to toe with an officer without having to grind a whole day.

Or even speed up the tick rate on the illegal operations so it doesn't take several hours to match the cops once.

I agree with most the things stated in this thread, I feel the weapons in the black market are pretty overpriced considering you lose them once you die. Lowering them imo would be a great way to counter act the police heavy side of things.

I can understand to an extent on how you feel but I hope you do realize this is a roleplay server and not a cops vs. robbers which is why this kind of things aren't meant to really do much for you, it's more so meant for roleplay. The bank robbery to my knowledge gives $40,000 in dirty money. That's quite low? Why you may ask? Because you aren't supposed to just run and gun and leave the scene, you're supposed to try and negotiate with the police to get a way out by means of a hostage or just straight up playing smart.

Another thing, ever since the LA bank robbery & School shooters, they've found that officers are really the first ones to respond to things then SWAT so officers are now given patrol rifles or some departments have patrolmen that are TAC certified but either way, a rifle is much more realistic and almost every department has a gunlock in between the two front seats, behind the center console because it's a quick and easy means to deploy said rifle.

As for the black market stuff, again this isn't meant to be a cops vs. robbers server so having a fully automatic rifle really just isn't a normal thing much now. It's meant to be a risk vs. reward for a reason thus why turtle and other illegal things are very dangerous and does mean you have a chance of losing all your hard work through means of robbery or law enforcement intervention.

I think you've missed/avoided every point we've tried to make here. We're not asking for it to be a Cops Vs. Robbers server. We're saying it's unfair to have to run for several hours to buy one gun to match you guys, and to have the risk of losing it.

Police in this server come at no disadvantages, you get a full armory and insanely fast cars. We start with nothing and have to work an outrageous amount of time and get lucky to get one gun. That gun is security for the amount of time and money we invest into our own businesses.

I also find it funny that you mention you need to be smart during a robbery, when the police will open fire on you the second you walk out of a building and there's a hostage right next to you. Exactly what chance do we stand?

Then give the civilians access to like semi automatic weapons (not a pea shooter) etc at a regular gun store. Granted I'm unsure if GTA has those kinds of weapons, but I personally feel as though the playing field needs to be a little leveled for criminal activity. I don't want the server to be you know gunfight at O.K. Corral, but I just feel as though some balancing needs to be done.

edit:
Without any disrespect intended, have you ever run turtles? It takes a lot of hours from start to end. It's not that I want to pick a fight with the cops, I just feel extremely under powered if the time came to protect my turtles. I'm not asking for instance that the heavy snipers and what not be reduced in price. But I think there should be a stronger weapon that civilians have access to, at a reasonable price. This could be a stronger pistol, or a rifle. I'm just trying to convey my experiences, and how frustrating it can be at times.

it's made to be challenging, i understand working hard for the hundreds of thousands of dollars, but it really is risk vs reward. if normal citizens were able to buy like super high tier guns like hella easily the city would turn into cops vs everyone picking a fight. just my two cents.

M Muffs that's a single shot pistol by the way. No way in heck that'd be allowed.

I've never done turtles however I have arrested a few people while conducting CID investigations on locations & people of interest. Again like it's been stated it's a risk v. reward. Doing illegal things aren't meant to be on a "level" playing ground because again, it's illegal.

No one really does factions like there could be. So for instance if people wanted (May have to make a SOP though) but they could have "The Lost Motorcycle Club" or Walker Logistics and have actual bank transports for roleplay that people could try and rob. The ideas could be endless for businesses but yet no one actually does this, why? Because they just wanna do illegal stuff. I rarely see much roleplay from people besides mechanics that ISNT illegal. And that's just annoying because the world of roleplay is endless, there's SO MUCH ya'll could be doing.

Oh and P.S. we did have a seatbelt function but EVERYONE hated it because no one would remember it or stuff would be fast pace and BOOM you're dead. It was ridiculous but I do know what you're talking about. There's a server I play on time from time that has the seatbelt thing as well, if you crash (Atleast very badly) you black out for a few seconds. Vehicles there also seem to damage alot quicker and easier. As well, the overall acceleration/speeds of ALL vehicles there including LEOs are slow so pursuits were actually realistic where vehicles might go 90+ tops on a small road but when they would try and turn they'd crash out. While here it seems like half the pursuits people go 130+ MPH on these same small roads but quickly slow down to 20 turn, and then back to 130

I didn't know it was a single shot, but maybe it's possible to change the damage on it. But I don't think you can truly understand where I'm coming from, until you've spent 7 hours straight running turtles. Just give us something more with range, I don't even care if it can only load a single bullet. And I do RP when I'm not running turtles, but it's a huge grind. As for the speeds maybe there is something that could be done there as well. I agree speeds aren't exactly realistic, I don't necessarily have a handle in the direction the community / GTA leadership wants the server to go. But I just wanted to get my thoughts out, because a lot of civilians I don't think have forum accounts or are active on the forums.

I think the problem here is you assume we're doing illegal operations just because we wanna be criminals. It's really the only realistic way to get a decent amount of money for the time we put in, you can't expect us to work our way up to rifles from lumber. Take that 6-7 hours for a gun and turn it into something more ridiculous.

There are plenty of other drug locations that barely get used because people just think that turtles pay out the most. Which is clearly not true at all, turtles are ran almost constantly so why would you keep doing that when there are more options and less of a chance to get caught? The more thought you put into any scenario you create the more likely you are to succeed no matter what that situation might be. There has been robberies that have been successful and without the robbers actually using automatic weapons. You don't need weapons or money to RP, which I think that most people think that's the only way. Just RP'ing can get you money if you are decent at it, as well as helping out others.

Also Cops only have access to their AR's, a shotgun, pistol, and a tazer. The only other people who have access to these "bigger weapons" are SWAT and the FBI. And even if so the AR is not used most times, since it is close quarter combat.

I edited #4 out as I have been playing police a little bit more now, but I personally would like to see civilians have access to a slightly longer ranged weapon if possible. I'm not sure if this is something that would be possible with GTA though. Ideally, I think it would be nice to have a civilian revolver. If possible maybe decrease damage on one if it was a little on the higher side, as some have said certain ones one hit people.

I may be a bit late to the party, but I believe that leadership has good reason to have priced the black market the way they have, you may not know this, but before the reset you could buy a special carbine for $25k and they were completely legal to own and carry, everyone had one, and what the high price has done to them is good, only ppl who are determined to get them, have them (ARs that is) the high price was meant to counteract the way things were before last reset and the determined ppl who are also stupid no longer have them

I think that's way too low I agree, I think an ideal number to me personally would be 100-150k.
