Hi there, now before you get mad, I know that this type of question was just asked in Master in Disguise 's latest post: "Am I Wrong?". But it was closed before I could ask the question, so I'm just going to ask it here.

Q: If the cells are open and the warden has not given a command that means if you leave your cell, you are KOS. However, what if the warden dies? If the warden dies it says that it's now a freeday. Does that mean the prisoners can leave cells? Or are they not allowed to because a command still hasn't been given within the required two minutes? (This assumes that a warden has been selected, the cells have been opened, and a T is able to kill the warden without getting killed for being out of cells.)

This is best demonstrated on VIP where people can get out of cells and rebel fairly quickly. I've seen it happen multiple times and I'd like to know whether I can blast the crap out of the t's running away.

(I'd like a definite answer so that I can refer here if I ever get in trouble for doing this.)

i dont know it too much purducken purducken but i can try and answering on vip as you said its easy to rebel, if warden dies with no commands given, and the next person dont take warden after 10 seconds its a freeday wich means you can do whatever you want aka leave cells since its a freeday, and if the guards are fast to take warden out of kos is implied, what i know of but im not too sure about it

If the warden dies and the cells are open its a freeday. If you run out of your cell and get killed its a freekill. The new warden also cannot tell you to get back into your cell.

Since when warden dies it instantly becomes a free day until a new warden is selected and has given their commands, leaving the cell would not be KOS. Along with this, anyone who left prior to the warden dying would also be pardoned, unless they were red of course.

Okay good to know. It was a bit confusing because the rules specifically say:

"As a prisoner, you are rebelling if you leave cells before being told to by the warden unless it has been 2 minutes since round-start."

and since technically the warden hasn't said any command I figured this rule would still be in play. So then that begs the question, are in-game commands/automated announcements more absolute than the rules?

They also say:
"When the warden dies, it is a freeday until new orders are given (this does not count towards the Special Days Limit). All T’s are pardoned unless they damaged a guard or are actively rebelling (red, inside armory/vents, etc.). ST’s are automatically revoked."

just above that
