Hey everybody, I've been seeing a pretty large amount of both Traitor and Innocent delay in the past couple of days, so I figured I'd explain it to those of you who don't fully understand it. To start off, Delay is when you aren't actively pursuing your role as an Innocent, Traitor, or a Detective.
Delaying as a Traitor is when you are not actively trying to kill Innocents or Detectives. This is most commonly seen when as a Traitor, you are running alongside a group of Innocents, not showing any intent to kill them. A tool I use when checking if I'm delaying as a Traitor, is if I'm alive by the 5 minute mark, do I have 4-5 kills? If not, then I would most likely be delaying. Then again, that's just me. These aren't expectations, just recommendations.
Delaying as an Innocent is when you are showing no intent to ID bodies or kill Traitors. Innocent delay is usually just an Innocent camping in a random part of the map, not moving at all. A tool I use to see if I'm delaying as an Innocent, is if I'm alive by the 5 minute mark, have I encountered at least 1 Traitor? Like I said above, these aren't expectations, just recommendations.
Delaying as a Detective is pretty much the same as delaying as an Innocent. You are also expected, as a Detective, to scan bodies and help the Innocents kill the Traitors. If you aren't actively scanning bodies and pursuing Traitors, you are most likely delaying.
If an admin puts out a message for Traitors/Innocents to stop delaying, you usually have around 30-60 seconds to kill at least one person. If you don't do anything within those 30-60 seconds, you will most likely be kicked.
For those of you who were unclear about Delay, I hope this helped. Happy Gaming!
