Counter-Strike: Global Offensive surf update: Expected nothing, still disappointed

The recent update to the surf server removed parkour mode, added a stupid glass breaking sound effect whenever someone broke a level record(trust me it gets annoying) reset everyone's ranks (again) and made most maps unplayable with no zones whatsoever, also requiring an rtv to change the map, which when "fixed" crashed the server most the time. After talking to some people and seeing that most of these issues were seen in testing, and then ignored, then pushed into the final update, and after seeing that sluggish and extremely underwhelming amount of support given to fixing the server, i can honestly say i expected nothing and i'm still disappointed. There are occasionally admins with the right privileges to fix it, but those times are usually only 1 map or so, and considering its been days since the update and only a few issues have been solved (the server can change maps now) which could all be solved much sooner if an actual amount of care was given to the surf server. The people who can fix it are never on the server to see whats wrong, and when they are they have to rely on noclip to get between runs and between stages to stage them in game(which seems to be the only method available to us right now) Not to mention that a lot of maps that are staged, have to be considered linear in order to be playable, because the new stage zones limit your speed to 250(and sometimes they limit the entire map to 250. I could forgive these issues for a day or two, especially considering the DDOS, but days after the DDOS and seeing the TTT server get new working updates at the same time we are struggling on the surf server, i'm more than disappointed.

Or because you understand that coding source mods are hard you can go to the suggestions area / bug reports where you use plain English and fill out a few things so that actual developers / coders can fix it for the next update

I just don't know why we get so many of these posts. I cant count how many times I've seen one spike from minigames, bhop or surf that are long explanations of whats wrong with the server and why they're mad at it's status. Majority of staff do not remember every complaint said to them. We have the forums so that we can keep tabs and give feedback to each other. If you want to truly make a difference then create bug reports and send updates when you can. Also make suggestions for things to be removed/added and get other's attention on those suggestions. That's the most I can help you though, so good luck with the rest. Sorry If I come off a bit rude.

Understand that admins don't get payed to be admins they are volunteers, they try their best to fix everything. And that is really hard.

Everyone here has made some great points. We appreciate that you care about the server enough that you came here and voiced your concern on the server. In reality everyone thinks they know what is best for a server (and sometimes the suggestions made will benefit it), but you have to realize that we are trying to continually monitor and fix every single server and try to please every single person. It frankly is a battle in futility.

I've acknowledged what you've said here, but if you want this to have some true backbone you should make a suggestion post and see what others think. Cheers.

The point of the post is to emphasize the fact that bug reports have been submitted and we've done what everyone is telling us, but the response has been sluggish and slim. Thankfully i think the issue is becoming more apparent to the higher ups because things are starting to get fixed. Thank you for your concern tho, and no you didnt come off as rude, i think your response was quite valid

You’re preaching to the choir. I agree with a lot, as someone who has submitted map fix request for surf in the past and goes out of their way to be vocal about the server, I understand. I think putting out an unfinished update to surf with many things to dislike about it is fustrating as heck. The TT is a small amount of people who dedicate their time to look at all the servers and meet everyone’s needs. I couldn’t do it myself, so for all the updates they did push out I saw it as a major step for the servers. As you are, and many others from surf, I am disappointed with the update for surf, but we just have to give TT time to zone the rest of the maps, and any other things, like the sounds when people beat the map or their times, or the glass breaking sound, just need suggestions. Encourage people to be vocal On surf and make suggestions, then we can make changes. ★彡 (*?꒳`*)

you're cool and all and i love the passion..

but next time, could you space your posts because i'm an old man and it just looks like gibberish without spaces.
