The recent update to the surf server removed parkour mode, added a stupid glass breaking sound effect whenever someone broke a level record(trust me it gets annoying) reset everyone's ranks (again) and made most maps unplayable with no zones whatsoever, also requiring an rtv to change the map, which when "fixed" crashed the server most the time. After talking to some people and seeing that most of these issues were seen in testing, and then ignored, then pushed into the final update, and after seeing that sluggish and extremely underwhelming amount of support given to fixing the server, i can honestly say i expected nothing and i'm still disappointed. There are occasionally admins with the right privileges to fix it, but those times are usually only 1 map or so, and considering its been days since the update and only a few issues have been solved (the server can change maps now) which could all be solved much sooner if an actual amount of care was given to the surf server. The people who can fix it are never on the server to see whats wrong, and when they are they have to rely on noclip to get between runs and between stages to stage them in game(which seems to be the only method available to us right now) Not to mention that a lot of maps that are staged, have to be considered linear in order to be playable, because the new stage zones limit your speed to 250(and sometimes they limit the entire map to 250. I could forgive these issues for a day or two, especially considering the DDOS, but days after the DDOS and seeing the TTT server get new working updates at the same time we are struggling on the surf server, i'm more than disappointed.
