Welcome to the month of costumes and candy - October! Before we get too far into the month I want to reflect back on the successes in September.
We ended September on a strong note. For the first month in the last few we ended with a comfortable financial position. This was in large part due to the generosity of our NEW Dedicated Supporters, but also because of the heavy contributions of a few individuals as well. I would like to take a moment to send a special shout out to Mayhem Death for donating $125 this past month. Not only is he volunteering his time as a Community Manager over Counter-Strike but also generously contributing towards the continued success of the community.
In server news, a handful of successes were present as well. Jailbreak has surged to the #3 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive server IN THE WORLD (#2 UNITED STATES) with CS:GO TTT coming up not too far behind at the #14 spot (#4 UNITED STATES). A focus in October will be Team Fortress 2 which we are expecting to rebound server ranks there.
I am sure you have read the latest news in regards to Day of Defeat: Source. Due to the lack of players both on our server and on Day of Defeat in general it had been decided by the Community Management team to pull support for DoD:S at this time. It's a tough pill to swallow as EdgeGamers was founded on the battlefields of Day of Defeat. Every great story must have an end. We certainly thank all of the players who have bled DoD:S over the years and shown their true dedication to a fourteen year old game. With the closing of Day of Defeat, we will be enabled to turn off one of our longer running Dedicated Servers allowing us for future growth in other areas of the community.
Additionally, our Battlefield revival project has come to an end as well. With that, Alex parted ways with the Community Management team to focus on efforts outside of the community. His parting thoughts we're put so elegantly and I would expect nothing different from Alex "Later B***hes lol."
What's to look forward to in October? The Leadership team are hard at work planning for some fun around Halloween time. Additionally, our art team has been tasked with giving you all a ghoulish update to our forums which will hopefully be rolling out in the coming weeks as we get closer towards Halloween.
One final thing, mark your calendars as our October Clan Wide Meeting will take place 10/26/19 @ 9:00 pm ET.
