Vehicles getting removed permanently for super speeding.

There is many ways you could punish people making a problem out of super speeding. permanently removing a expensive, possibly limited time vehicle should never be on the list. I personally believe that it is a problem with many people but not everyone, dont punish the community as a whole punish the ones that make a problem out of it. I personally speed a lot, but if im being pulled over i stop and pull over, even if i am super speeding and take the ticket and jail time so i dont make a problem about running from the police after speeding. This is about the people that are speeding so they decide to not stop. i would say for the select people who prove to be in that category should be punished heavily for a reputation they have built, Make them think about it. But with me, im just trying to have fun in my fast cars, not run from the cops.

With the people who consistently dont stop for police after speeding, or people super speeding in general should be fined heavily each time until they learn that its not what they should do OR you could raise the jail time substantially for them it will make them complain and annoyed but they will live and keep playing the server.

My statement is that this new car thing is that if i am being pulled over in an expensive limited time car for super speeding, knowing it will be taken away. I will simply run more often than i do. i wont pull over if my car will be taken away. and if it is removed from the garage that breaks your judgement on "realistic" as if its in the garage, through rp it would be hidden out of sight and without any knowledge of anyone taking it away and it just is gone thats not roleplay at all. If this becomes a problem and i lose cars i dont think ill stick around long after.

Sieze the vehicles, make them drive realistically. Yall don't listen when admins tell you to drive realistically. I've watched an admin give 3 opportunities to someone for realistic driving, the person just waits until they're gone and moves on zipping through the city.

You want this new rule to relax? Roleplay Realistically and read the thread in the GTA forums about how in real life, people don't commit crimes in these super expensive cars and they certainly don't go to triple digit speeds in the city in them.

Banning has no effect, these people just come back after the ban and continue their actions. This is not a roleplay problem, so no, jail time doesn't make sense, it's an out of character decision to treat the roleplay server like GTA Online.

Banning isn't necessarily the solution either. Creating a roleplay solution is better than a Ban any day because it keeps the player in the game while encouraging them to do better.

This has nothing to do with pursuits, it's been openly spoken it's not about pursuits.

I refer you to the second post Adam made on this subject in the thread directly pertaining to this.

Out of Character

Server Rules said:
Operate Vehicles Responsibly
Vehicles should be operated responsibly and realistically. Vehicles should never be ramped off bridges or high inclines and expected to continue forward, they must be roleplayed as immobile. Additionally, vehicles which realistically can’t operate on major inclines or terrains shouldn’t. Finally, no vehicles should be operated inside of a building – keep them on the streets.

Above is our rule concerning the operation of vehicles. Underneath this rule, it is entirely unrealistic to crash your vehicle at over 100 MPH and expect the vehicle to not be completely totaled. This also includes the act of ditching your vehicle into the ocean to avoid the police. Your vehicle would be totaled beyond repair. If you crash your vehicle at a ridiculous speed during a police chase or even ditch it in the ocean, your vehicle will be subject to a permanent seizure.

Also included in this rule, would be operating your vehicle at a high rate of speed. It is entirely unrealistic for someone to use their super expensive car for crime or to run from the police, reaching speeds over 150 MPH. It is also entirely unrealistic to consistently reach triple digit speeds in the city limits. You would not have the space to achieve such speeds safely. Also, those who own these vehicles IRL, would not put their investment in danger. So again, if you are caught super-speeding multiple times or breaking a certain speed, you will be subject to having your vehicle seized.

The leadership team and staff of the PD have had enough of what has been going on. This is a realistic roleplay server. You are expected to act accordingly. We are fully aware that the Cops vs Criminals aspect is a big part of our server, but there comes a point where enough is enough. These vehicles are a luxury item, not a necessity. When we reset the server, the players wanted realistic car speeds and the team agreed as long as things were not abused. This included making the police car speeds realistic.

Finally, before this comes up, this is not because the cops are consistently losing in pursuits. This always seems to be the argument. It's about keeping things realistic. If you feel the need for speed, there is a perfectly good race track in the sky to let your car stretch its legs.

And for the record, I do not enjoy making posts like this. If you have any questions, post them below.

I feel like this is a panic reaction. We're not stating the first time you're caught speeding you'll have your garage emptied out. There's a 3 strike system where proof is needed, and only Leadership will be removing vehicles, so you don't have to worry about an officer having a grudge against you or just him taking your car because you upset him.

We're not trying to discourage your roleplay, but we are trying to encourage you to be a better RP'er. Super speeding low effort RP has been a serious issue lately and this is our way of trying to curb it. If we wanted to stop it we could make it a one strike policy but that's silly. We respect you guys as players and as such hope you understand that this has been going on for too long.

I split up your comments, and I'll address each one.

Realistically, if that's what it takes for people to learn, i'm fine with it.

dont punish the community as a whole punish the ones that make a problem out of it.
We're doing exactly that. People who drive realistically wont even notice that this rule is in existence.

I personally speed a lot, But with me, im just trying to have fun in my fast cars...

And you can do that easily, in a CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT. Hell, go to the racetrack if you really want. I know i'm not gonna go witch hunting people there for superspeeders.

If this becomes a problem and i lose cars i dont think ill stick around long after
That's your own call

Well, if you're gonna speed, you're taking that risk on your own.

I'm not trying to sound demeaning, or insulting in anything i've said if it comes off that way. (I understand it might) But the fact that this has been an issue for months, it just needs to be resolved.

I wish civilians or criminals for that matter would use junk cars when doing crime or running from the police. Why would you want to run in your personal car thats registered to you that would result in an arrest coming your way.

I just find it humorous how people will super-speed way above 100 through Legion Square with their super cars and then complain about getting pulled over and reading this news.

I've said in character a few times, what's the point in spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in super cars when you're on a realistic RP server where you won't really be able to use that speed. (Aside from the car looking nice, no point in my opinion).

I'll say it, I do speed. But I do it in the right places at the right times and always being cautious of how I drive my vehicles. If I'm on the highway (off duty from my RP job), I will speed and get up to 150+ or sometimes even in the country side. But especially in the city, I've never gone over 40.

I do hope with this kind of news that people will understand that they can go to GTA V Online to super speed everywhere.

Cheers~

*still gets yelled at in a gtao vehicle that maxes out at like 120, and won?t come back to me*

As the Chief of Police, and the CM of GTA replied, saying it was necessary, suggestion is closed.
