Is there any intention of this organization going into esports and if it does is there any intention of us being paid for it? The industry has picked up and the model of this seems primitive.. video games are in the BILLIONS.

S StillV2 like i said in my other post...

We have tried at eGO time and time again over the years to get into competitive gameplay. The teams never last long, never work out, or die off after a season. It's hard to get everyone coordinated and playing regularly when most people at their core here are casual gamers who have families, school, life, work, and can't dedicate the amount of time into it.

If a bunch of people want to start a team under eGO's name, sure, they'd be open to it. If they actually managed to climb through the ranks to actually get some payout, of course they'd get it. It's yet to happen in my time here though.

Starting a pro team takes time, commitment, and money. We aren't exactly rolling in the dough here.

I think, while it would be super cool to see, it's insane how much money it takes to sponsor and promote a professional esports team.

Especially when the prime source of income is DS donations. Paying the players would be out of the question. Unless eGO wants to revert back to banner ads on the website (something I think would be beneficial).

Honestly if I could get a team of 6 of us together then we could probably win a pubg mobile tournament & be in the millions

So?

Quite honestly if my reason for being at eGO was to get money, I wouldn't be here. Nothing we're doing is meant to turn a high profit to payout to specific members for their work.

Perhaps you could, but getting to the point of making money would be on those who are in the team since as Simon and kuantum have said, it takes a lot to sponsor a team and we aren't exactly at the point where we can do that. If you were able to get a group of people who are willing to compete(without being paid until you make some money) then you can always make a contact leadership post with all the information. Once you have done that the appropriate people will look into it.

Even if this sounds supercool, trust me it requires so much funds for a lot of things. I used to sponsor a pr-league team and later on I had an NA major team sponsored for a while (on CSGO that is), and trust me, nowadays its even harder to cover the ammount needed to keep this up for a logical amount of time (till you can attract income from sponsors, so you won't have to bleed yourself out of money and not only), until it becomes profitable for both sides with minimal risk to blow up.

I would love to see it happen if possible however.

I do think though we should set up inter-eGO scrimmages. I think that would be fun and more rewarding than an eSports team.

Maybe an EC could handle that.

If you were willing to do pubg mobile, there is really no cost and I might not seem like it but I am probably the # 1 player in the game
