Bad Company 2 Stupid snipers!!

Not really.

I usually play assault but I like playing the recon role when I can squad up with a good assault player, or if I think there's not enough spotting going on. I'm always surprised though about the number of people who literally hate them and won't do anything to help...like dropping ammo. I'm lucky because most of the guys I squad up with as a recon know how I play. Lots of motion bombs, lots of spotting, and aggressive for flags.

A couple of things about recon that I think I've brought up before.

Recon is usually the first class that new players try, mostly because it's not as intense as the others. The can hide and watch, drop mortars, pick off a target once in a while...but after a time it can get pretty boring and once they've got some experience, they start to move into assault and engineer roles.

We still get a lot of new players on the server so I think it behooves us to make sure we're not crapping on people because of their role or style of gameplay. They've probably only spent $5 on the game so it's no big sacrifice not to come back if everyone's being a dick (my apologies to the Richards out there).

Excellent points of observation Tikkun , I get really frustrated at times when I'm busting my A$$ trying to capture flags and the Recon Guys just camp and do nothing , there are a few who are right there beside me capturing flags and causing havoc but they are far and few in between , even though the campers don't seem to be doing much I still bring them ammo when I'm in the assault class . It seems the good snipers are really good and the bad one are horrible , does not seem to be any " in between " version . Sometimes I play recon when I'm really , really , really bored and basically all I do is spot and pick off the occasional target if I can even hit them that is , I'm a terrible shot at sniping . It is always nice to see you on the server Tikkun because you are an excellent player and team M8 .

I take the game seriously when I play, but I'm here for the fun - nothin' but.

But I know what you mean, too. I'll squad up as assault with a name or two I know, experienced players as recons, and I'm the one doing the spotting! Even piloting I find that I'm doing the spotting...heh, and considering my K/D, you gotta know I'm getting my points from spot assists, ammo supplies, and flags.

That said, according to GameMe I've been playing on this server pretty-much exclusively since 2013...it's a great place to play, and it's the place where trolls come to die. We even like the guys who are so good we hate 'em! LOL!

I know there is no sniper limit, it can become too much at times. I play sniper from time to time and if your going to snipe, spot and cover your guys. I think snipers do add to the game if the class is played correctly. I mostly play the engineer class with at4, smg upgrade, and thanks to the assault guys for giving me ammo.

I wonder if some of these guys don't even know what they're capable of...I run into quite a few that don't know about motion bombs.

I'll have to pay attention to the chat message rotation - we should have an ego link in there just for "C'mon in! Hints, tricks, and secrets on how to drive your enemies mad! Visit . . ." LOL

I know there's been a lot of inmigration to the server, but the number of new names is kind of mind-boggling, y'know? There's got to be a tonne of new players.

The problem with sniper limits is that when there are good snipers, like as not they're blocked from playing that role because they're already filled.

I play recon class....but usually don't have one of the sniper kit weapons equipped because I don't even get hitmarkers at close range (I blame my internet as of late). Instead: M1 Garand!
