Dedicated Supporters and their Voteban/Votekick abilities in CSS.

One of the only reasons I became a DS is to be able to voteban/votekick people that are blatantly hacking. I play during the day when the admins are no where in sight and sometimes we get people that hack for 20-30 minutes before someone gets on to take care of the situation. I was just playing in EGO CSS server and there has been a blatant hacker on for the last 10 minutes. I would either like a refund for my "donation" or be able to votekick/voteban blatant hackers from the server.

I remember the votekick option working for me about a month ago when I had my membership. I let me DS membership go, but just signed up again due to being home now more often. We'll see if it's working again for me once my DS membership activates. We need to make sure the options of being a DS supporter are working for everyone.

sm_voteban [player] [reason]: Starts a vote to ban a client for 30 minutes, will not work when admins are playing.
sm_votekick [player] [reason]: Starts a vote to kick a client, will not work when admins are playing.
sm_vip, sm_donator, sm_ds: Opens the donator customization menu.
Donator Chat:
Use a $ in front of any message to access a private chat for only donators.
Example: "$Hey guys, should we start a votekick on this guy for delaying the game?"


It goes without saying that commands to votekick and voteban should not be abused. Doing so may result in your perks being removed. We'd rather not have to do that, because having awesome Dedicated Supporters like yourself on our servers when no admins are on can help prevent punks from ruining yours and other players game experience."

hey B Bagelbagel the reason why you do not have votekick or voteban perms is because you must be a member (e tag) to use them, to become a member head to www.edge-gamers.com/join and follow those THREE steps IN ORDER. if you are accepted you will have access, if you still dont let us know and we will take care of it

I have tried all of those commands, I think it was because I wasn't a member of EGO. Although there was no explanation of that anywhere that I recall.

So, something you can do if no admins are present for whatever reason.

Utilize the games option or another way to record the game screen.

1) Go into console(` if enabled) and type 'status', grab the offending users Steam ID by copying it. Everyone connected to the server will have their Steam ID displayed. Make sure it's the right ID by matching it to the offenders game name.
2) Type 'record <name>', ie; record RicTheHacker. this will start recording your screen. When finished with adequate footage, type 'stop'. This will save the demo to your computer.
3) Navigate to where the video was saved and upload it some where for the admins to see. We used to email demos 10 years ago, IDK about anymore.
Note: Footage must be in first person view, last I checked. Verify this piece of information.
3) Fill out a ban request form


Sure, that doesn't give you an immediate solution, but it's a solution none the less and it helps the integrity of the servers and further more, can work towards your promotion. As an eG, I believe you have the access to kick players without having to take a vote.

Please have Covert contact me...He and I need to have a little chat...I donated the money to support the server and I had to remove the =e= from my name because after waiting to join when the server is full , I get a notice saying I have been kicked for impersonating an EGO member...This is getting old very quick...

Instead of directly PMing the CM of Tech, try making a contact leadership. That'll most likely get you the quickest response with the easiest solution.

I wanna thank Cian for disconnecting so we could see if the votekick works as a test. I attempted to votekick in game and it says "[SM] You do not have access to this command" I assume if the votekick doesn't work the voteban won't either.

Instead of directly PMing the CM of Tech, try making a contact leadership. That'll most likely get you the quickest response with the easiest solution.
Or....Instead of putting us dedicated supporters off with excuses, why don't you contact these people thru your backchannels and let them know what is going on....I shouldn't be getting kicked after donating money for impersonating a member...Its wrong and should be a concern of yours, but it doesn't seem to be..
