So apparently these ssd's are the way to go (for now), from what I've been studying. However, after doing some research I can't use it yet because my motherboards chipset more than likely can't support it (im currently on a z77 chipset). Here is my question for now; when it comes to upgrading to a newer motherboard, will it matter performance wise if I get a motherboard with the built in slot vs buying a pci-e card so that my newer mobo will be able to take full advantage of the drive? Right now I love how slender these ssd's are, but haven't heard anything about the energy output of them.
Just fyi, I am considering keeping my current Samsung 2.5" 500gb ssd & getting an additional NVMe ssd, on top of my hard drive (this might just be optional since I already have 2 externals with my system currently, so just kinda playing around with ideas).
