The post status checker will flash a few of the lights but then go off. I've unplugged the optical drive so that's a non issue. The fans all run other than the gpu.

Sorry, the 8 pins not connected into the GPU in the pic just made me ask

There's 2 sets of 8 pins and I've tried plugging into each

Did you make sure it's seated all the way? If the fans aren't turning on and it's not displaying anything, it's either DOA or not seated all the way

There's two 8 pin connectors for power, however if only one of them was plugged in or if it was incorrectly plugged in it would mostlikely still boot with an error screen. But it's currently not booting at all

One of those is for the cpu. Here's the connectors the power supply has:
1 x 20+4-Pin Main connector
1 x EPS / ATX 12V 4+4-Pin connector
6 x SATA
1 x 6+2-Pin PCI-E
1 x 6-Pin PCI-E
4 x Peripheral
1 x FDD

This looks like another 8 pin connector
If it's not and you only have that 1 6+2 connector and that's a 6 pin then you're going to need to get a bigger psu. It's not powerful enough for that gpu.

Here is an example of how my GPU is setup. Your GPU requires more power though, looks like 2x 8 pin connectors.

Buy a proper PSU and don’t rely on hacky adapters when it comes to power.

Not worth having power issues for your expensive GPU when you could just return and get the proper hardware.

Got a EVGA 750 GA supernova. Installing now will see if this fixes everything. It did also have 2 8 pins for cpu so ill add the extra 4 pin for the cpu
