Hey everyone,
There are certain rules that some people are breaking and it's getting to the point where it is making the server not enjoyable for others. GTA Leadership have been buckling down on our members and admins breaking rules such as these. The only way we know there is a problem is to report it.
Metagaming
Metagaming is defined as utilizing Out-Of-Character knowledge for personal In-Character benefit or gain. This includes any knowledge gained from external programs such as Discord, TeamSpeak, or the Forums without properly talking in-character. For Example:
Using any knowledge that you learned from watching streams and reading chats to directly influence a role play scenario.
Metagaming is also defined as using the DOWN ARROW to look at the players steam name & ID to dictate how you are going to handle the role play scenario
Remain In Character – At All Times
Players MUST remain in-character at all times while in the server. This includes voice chat, /twt, /me, /news etc.. The only out-of-character resources players should use are /loc, /ooc and /report.
Saying things along the lines of “My screen” or “It’s lag” is considered failing to stay in character.
How to go about reporting:
If a player is blatantly going OOC that is disruptive or metagaming in game, a report should be filed in the Ban Request forum. If the user is an admin, please send it to the Contact Leadership forum. If the GTA leaders confirm the report and find it valid, the player will be banned for up to three days. Repeated offences may have more harsh consequences. These reports should not be disputed or argued in game as they will actively disrupt an RP scene. Evidence must be provided in the form of a video recording - any text based submissions will not be allowed. Also, if the report being made is from video that is older than 3 days, it will be considered null. We expect to receive these reports the moment/day it happens.
