Currently I believe the cool down for a map to be nominated is 5 maps. Is there anyway this could be extended to 10. With there being 60+ maps, it would allow people to play less common maps causing less people to leave and overall more enjoyable

I like this idea. It would give us more variety without doing our normal rotation: closequarters > clue > apehouse > dolls > some other random map to get back to closequarters.

I agree. I think we should extend it to 10 and possibly extend the RTV option to 4 rounds on a map? That way people don't immediately change the map so we can just go back to closequarters lol

Those are the maps every time for the short periods that I'm on lol. It gets boring playing the same maps. I'm glad new maps are being made occasionally but that isn't enough because they're "bad" lmao

Ah yes, this debate.

In the left corner, the usual. The usual knows everything about the common maps, and is starting to see things get extremely repetitive. He wants new maps to hopefully break this repetitiveness. (Don't worry, I'm right there with ya)

In the right corner, leadership. They recognize there's a reason as to why some maps are overplayed. There's two main arguments I've heard from this side. 1. Newbies like to at least know some of the map, hence why they like the overplayed ones. They don't really know how to apply the gamemode to new maps, and just like to stick to common. These players are more likely the leave than the usuals. 2. There's clearly a reason as to why they're overplayed. Give the people what they like to play, and since these maps keep being voted, people like to play them. Leadership's goal is to find a balance between keeping the usuals playing, keeping server pop up, and making it easy for the Newbies to transition to the usuals.

Simply said, would making this change help out those three categories?

1. Yes, it would keep the usuals here
2. Most likely not, if you're going from the second argument of the leadership side.
3. Wouldn't apply.

If you, an usual, would like to have new maps, you need to try your best to keep the newbie's here. As an usual, you need to prey upon and debunk the first argument of Leadership. Stepping up the server, and explaining maps to people would help them stay, and help new maps be played, making leadership more keen to making changes like this

Valid points all around, I was wondering I originally suggested a 10 map cooldown, but I feel like increasing to 7 would still allow for the popular maps to played and add a couple more. I feel like more often what pushes the new players away is the people on the server not so much the map. If theyre new they dont know any of the maps (they will just vote whatever is screamed at them).

The current map exclusion rate is 8, which is actually the highest we've ever had on TTT, but this may seem like it is less than it actually is because maps are only around 25 minutes long. We've played around with this exclusion number being higher on Jailbreak, but while this did cause more maps to be played, it also lowered the player count as there is a reason why people like sticking to these same general maps, simply because they're enjoyable. Appreciate the suggestion but at this time we do not intend to change this number for TTT, which I'm assuming would be what this suggestion was for~
