I invest with investors, I do know a few daytrader friends though...

I would say kids your age (And I'm only assuming) should really look into ROTH IRA's.

Once you get older you make too much money to participate. I've been told to max out my ROTH and put any additional into a traditional 401K. And always meet the employer match.

I'm not American.
At the moment I have around 13,000 in a WealthSimple TFSA, as well as about 78,000 With a top Investor with the Bank Of Montreal. (I'm lucky to have them, since she doesn't invest peoples money unless they make an investment of at least 5 Million, but my grandfather is their close friend.

BUT I do think other people should listen to this advice.:)

dryden dryden and anyone else willing to listen.

Thanks for reminding me that eGO is an International Organization. Sorry for my slip and offering American-centric advice without a disclaimer. It's definitely interesting to hear how members from other countries invest.

Just FYI (again directed @ US members)

Roth IRA - Pay taxes on initial investment but none on interest (This is a HUGE benefit!). Investment max/yr. is very low.

IRA - Initial investment is Tax free but you pay tax on monies received as you would on income AND as you age you're forced to take specific amounts which could increase your Tax Bracket!! Investment max/yr. is fairly high.

Yes, my dad has been day trading since he was in his 20's. I have managed brokerage accounts that I'm paying 3 different brokers and a lawyer to maintain my accounts. I use to day-trade but wasn't good at it. I just let my brokers and advisors do all the work for me and I pay them yearly fee as well as various account managers.
