Personally, I've seen both sides of this argument and I feel that this should really be a thing. If you are placed in custody of a cop and you somehow get away due to some kind of negligence or something or another, you should have a way to get out of cuffs. I propose that the foundry would be a great location to do this in, as they would have the equipment there. To balance this the foundry workers could call the police about some suspicious activity there. Not only would it provide a criminal a way to successfully get away in the event that they are lost from police custody, it would also make it so the police would get a general idea of where that person went. I do realize that some cops might just camp this location when someone escapes custody and I would hope they would not do this and that criminals wouldn't try and illegitimately just run away at every other second they are a foot away from a cop.

I definitely think there should be a way to get someone out of cuffs. I don't like the idea of a designated place though.

What if it was possible for someone to use lockpicks on a person. Realistically, you could lockpick yourself out of cuffs, but I see that being abused so let's not go that route.

But let's say cops move a decent distance from you, you're able to either jump into a car or literally run away with the help of a friend. That friend should beable to lockpick you out of the cuffs. I just don't know if this would be possible to do within the game mechanics and also to make sure it's not something that can be done right beside a cop without them realizing....

I like the lockpick idea, I didn't think of that. But yes, it would be very important that they can't just do it with a cop there haha. Maybe another person has to do it on them that would be fair

Am not BIG into gta rp but i've done some bank heist and when the cops arrest you its kind of annoying having no way of counter-attacking that. I think they should add a feature like u said where anther player can use a lockpick and free a handcuffed user. +1

Also yeah when your arrested and in custody this should also be a feautre.

Perhaps you could have someone else be able to lockpick you out of cuffs after an animation? IE I get cuffed and I'm left alone. My buddy can come and lock pick me out but it takes 15-20 seconds to get me out. +1 for the lockpick idea tho.

Also.... make hardcuffs so you are able to look around without moving.

I like this, I also agree that it should take a bit to prevent someone from doing it while the cops are there. And yeah, hard handcuffs you should be able to look around just not move.

Hmm, how about only another player could uncuff you, you need specific keys/lockpick that would cost extra (as I'm pretty sure they're only 5k each) and you both have to be standing still for the time it takes so like 15-30 seconds.

I don't think you should need a specific lockpick. Any lockpick would do. To be honest, it's pretty easy to break out of real handcuffs if you know what you're doing.

If it's possible to even implement (and leadership even agrees with the system), it would have to be another player doing it for you because getting yourself out of cuffs would be abused quickly.

You're already in trouble, so why wouldn't you attempt to get away? However, your buddy who decides to help you is probably not in trouble and thus putting themselves into a situation, which I don't think as many people would do.

Animation would 100% need to be a thing. Similar animation and mechanics as breaking into a house with the little wheel click game and you're hunched over doing the lockpick animation.

I also think hardcuffs should allow you to look around. I never really liked the idea of hardcuffs period though. No cop in real life could make you stay in place without putting you into his locked car but it's also extremely hard to run away when you have your hands cuffed behind your back. Not to mention, if you fall, you go face first into the ground and good luck dealing with that injury and still trying to get up and run away.

The way I see it I guess is you go to jail for robbing a bank and poof there goes 30k but instead, you can pay 5k and get off the hook just doesn't really seem fair to me I guess.

To be honest, I don't think implementing this feature would really make it that easy to get away from cops. Cops would need to be more diligent when they are dealing with detaining people. The amount of times I've been detained and cops will walk WAY off so they can talk in private makes me laugh. I never run though because the chance of getting away is slim to none but still, I don't think you're going to have a vast amount of people actually successfully pulling this off in any case.

In other cities, handcuffs and keys are sold to civilians from stores so that when you take a hostage they cannot do stupid things and keys can unlock handcuffs (either PD or civ handcuffs).

There's also a script that makes handcuffing someone an animation with a quick time event where you can break free.
As it stands now with your rules about power gaming, the entire interaction with the police is technically power gaming as you have no way to break free, you cannot RP a prison break and all police stations are safe zones meaning you cannot get broken out in any way before sentencing forcing you into a prison sentence, dealing with the entire booking process etc.
