New Rule Change Regarding F9 Menu and Vins/License Plates

The one rule in here I disagree with is the license plates, I believe they should be allowed to removed as in certain scenarios you wouldn’t want a plate, for example if you are doing a street race. On top of this I see people without plates driving very often. I get that this was implemented to reduce the amount of people that just drive around without a plate, and to stop people from doing crime in their own cars but I believe there is a better way to solve this then a rule preventing it.

Power Gaming
Power gaming is defined as forcing players down a single path with no other options within roleplay.

This would be not leaving any sort of evidence at the scene of a crime. Saying your car is completely bleached and has no registration or identifying features. To bleach and scrub down an entire car after a crime takes a while not the 3 seconds it took for you to ditch the car and get into another one after crashing. Also VIN plates on *most cars* are located in 3 places. Along with that, most valuable OEM parts also have unique serial numbers to prevent theft. These serial numbers can be used to search for the VIN of the car when the plates have been removed. Removing all parts with serial numbers would be next to impossible without disassembly of the entire car.

Easy fix? Light the car on fire, ditch it somewhere someone WONT find it or simply get away from the police. If you crash hop out and get into a friends car, you're going to have left things behind. You are not going to have time to scrub stuff into the seats and pick up whatever you are leaving behind.

We are looking to expand criminal RP to something more than simply run from and shoot at police which is the direction it seems to be going. Criminal investigation RP is integral to the police also enjoying their time on the server it also helps make peoples actions have consequences. This is something I do not feel carries any weight right now. Being a criminal should be hard. It's not supposed to be something you can take lightly. You either are good and evade capture and play smart of you spend a lot of time in jail. it's not GTA online where everyone is expected to be a criminal, it's a choice you make with your character.

As said previously by me multiple times in multiple threads. If you are a big criminal in the city, act like it. Be harder to track down, use your friends cars to avoid getting captured and stop hanging out at the garages. You want to have social time with everyone? Don't be a criminal get a job and make your money legit or simply be a smart criminal and get other people to do your dirty work. Better not hire a rat!

If the rule needs to be modified, we will modify it accordingly. Discussion should remain civil.

god damn that’s a lot of passion behind peoples post. makes me excited to see people standing up for what they believe in.

I personally play when I can and usually I’m just RPing as a Paramedic. Since I’m a part time player and i still don’t understand anything outside of being a Paramedic, I don’t really have an opinion. I don’t even know what to do with the cash I have that I earn. I know people say buy cars and houses and whatever..but I literally don’t even know how to do that haha.

regardless of what your opinion is of the rule here is the facts,

if you have the option to removed your vin, to remove your plate to remove everything and you do, its not fun for anyone else involved who isn't a criminal, the only thing that achieves is police feel like its a bunch of bullshit that crims and whomever else can go rob a bank in a lambo without a plate or vin without any repercussions, its not fun to chase a lambo but its even less fun if there's no way to find out who they are when people are always wearing gloves, always wearing a mask, always never leaving evidence, now sure there could be some changes to the rule here and there, clearly people are upset about it, but you gotta keep in mind that no argument is one sided, all sides matter just as much as the other, and having it where criminals already always wear gloves, where they already remove evidence, they remove all aspects of role play for police.

its just not fun, and that's why the rule was added.

and even as someone who isn't a cop on any character, there is nothing worst when someone removes the one thing you can use as RP, for ex as a medic when someone gets upset bc they wanna be expressed at pillbox, like no we need to have RP too. In the same situation its not fair to remove that avenue of RP from police, like if you want to not be traced you're gonna have to try a little harder now like going back to get the car, getting a friend to snatch it or distracting the cops. the only thing I do not agree with is the license plate, that stuff happens very easily in irl and I think it is something that can happen in the server as long as the VIN cant change.
