Hello, I want to be straight to the point and start off by saying my friend group and I will be parting from the server temporarily, mainly seeing that we are not wanted in the server and it has shown. Not by the civilians but rather the cops, and majority of leadership, who disagree with everything we say and say things like “I can assume what all your reasons are and just drop you in the trash with bubbs” (RedDragonKnight). This is completely disrespectful and coming from a senior manager to a member shows a lot about the current FiveM community, and once again represents how unwanted we are. With this said, I would like to give light to some necessities that need to be addressed urgently , as currently criminals are pushed away and oftentimes banned. There is a steady decline in the server and the only thing that has improved for criminals is the criminal medbay, and this is in my 6 months of being in the server.

A major concern that we have brought up many times is the toxicity of the cops as well as their need to win and abusing meta tactics to win these interactions. Cops need to start rethinking their RP, and change their winning mindset, all the cops from cadet to chief of police have it whether or not they want to admit it. Some ongoing issues that needs to be addressed is hard cuffing, pitting, cops breaking rules but criminals having to deal with it IC, criminals not having an ability to break out of cuffs, criminal jail sentences, mindset, metagaming, and most important, reducing the power of the cops, as this lets them rule with an iron fist that is not accepted in other servers and attributes to the negative “my way or the highway” mindset.

I would like to start with hard cuffing, this is powergaming, it is simply because it allows criminals no freedom of movement and forces them into jail with no chance of getting out after cuffed. Cops abuse hard cuffing as it is meta and confirms that they will win this scenario. Hard cuffs should only ever be used if someone constantly runs during that scene, doing this also removes RP from criminals the moment they are hard cuffed, as the cops just drag them straight into the cell and book them, sometimes without even talking to the criminal. This prevents the possibility of being broken out due to the fact that RP is required to pause so an admin or another police officer can uncuff them which is rare as well due to reasons stated below.

Moving on to ramming cars, cops literally use their cars as weapons and treat them as tanks. Cops will failRP and run straight into your car because they have a “rambar” this would almost never happen in real life and is completely unrealistic. This also ruins RP for criminals as it doesn’t allow them to escape the police with skill and planning and not brute force, and be rewarded with freedom, and if the criminals were to do this the cops get super mad and try to impound all their cars, as well as warn them for FailRP as it isn’t “realistic”. This is very hypocritical , leading to more power for the cops.

Following this is when the cops break simple server rules criminals have to deal with it IC, but if criminals do it, they get in trouble or are banned for FailRP, NVL, VDM, Interjecting, etc. Criminals are forced to take it to court, which is known to not be handled and the cops face no punishment whatsoever. The lack of a court system and the plenty of doors left for police to get out of trouble completely eliminates a cops sense of reason as it allows them to break rules and not face any consequences.

Extended is criminals not being able to remove cuffs, this makes no sense at all, in real life handcuffs are so easy to break off, unlock, lockpick, etc. but in the edgegamers’ server, you are stuck in handcuffs for no clear reason, and told by leadership that no they won’t have someone come take your cuffs off and allow you to RP it out.

Leading on, jail sentences are outstandingly horrible, cops will message ReX to go rob a bank or conduct other criminal means because they are bored, and when he does they will book him for 180 months 9/10 times. This ruins RP for the cops themselves as it encourages worse RP from criminals as it now becomes a fight over who wins the situation. Cops will say you do the crime you do the time but fail to realize that this is a video game, no one wants to sit in jail and afk on the server for 3 hours for something that took 30 minutes. This is horrible and is the main reason that almost no criminals remain in the server and is the main problem of the server.

Cops need to change their mindset when dealing with criminals, shown in Dustin’s join message stating “Oh wow another pursuit!”, when I refer to this im not speaking to Dustin directly but you signed up to be a cop, you should expect to get in pursuits and get into shootouts. If you don’t enjoy these altercations then just stop being a cop, simple.

Metagaming is also abused by cops and never get in trouble for it. For example I was driving my Lykan around randomly with ReX when he was wanted for domestic, and was pulled over without the cop being able to see him visibly (too far away, and had a mask on). Leading to his arrest, giving him another bad experience adding to the feeling of wanting to quit, as he wasn’t allowed too due to domestic terrorism charges which removes a character from RP for weeks and can also be considered power gaming.

Last is cops complete control of power, the server is designed for the cops to win in its current state and I don’t see this changing any time in the near future. With this set in place it is what pushes all criminals away from the server, almost no criminals are still in the server, for example, Billy, Rico, Depression, Blaziken, and now we have decided to make the best choice for ourselves to leave due to the current situation with cops that adds on to our previous experiences.

All things considered, we will be departing from the server for the time being, hopefully both parties will be satisfied with this decision, cops can finally get what you want as well as leadership. Thank you guys for the memories we have had, and we wish the best to all, we hope to return to the server and see it in a better state. Thank you all, goodbye.

I'm sad to see people leave the server no matter who they are and what side they are on. While I think there are issues with cops, there are issues with crims. It's not mutually exclusive and if you think this, you are part of the problem.

Starting off, I absolutely agree with the cuffs. There should be a way for both the criminal in cuffs to break out of them and their friends to help them get out too. The issue here being the crims would almost always try and break out and there would never be anyone who would actually submit. Which is why everyone gets hardcuffed. We'd be dealing with the same scene for 5 hours straight trying to get the same person in jail leading to just a giant circle. Which falls back on this being a mutual problem. Crims are also in the wrong mindset. With this being said, I made a suggestion thread about adding a breakout location and I'd be all for it. Whatever makes the criminals happy to help with their RP also helps with cop rp, which is awesome.

Regarding cops hitting criminals just because, it's not entirely true. A lot of people have shitty internet, and this is very noticeable in pursuits where they're trying to stay close to you. As a result there's a lot of car hitting that's unintentional. Cops have to request authorization to pit, they can't just hit you whenever they want. Our cars break too, you know, we aren't just patrolling in bearcats. Additionally, this is an almost completely an in character issue. You can easily make a report about someone doing this and actions will be taken. Of course, if it's dsync, like it most always is then that's another story. Criminals disappear into the ground or go behind us too. It's an issue for both sides that no one purposely does.

Again, crims do the same thing. Not just cops break the rules. If there's an issue with this, make a report, take it to the forums, do something. The current situation from what I've seen is to just call people out in discord or ooc, which results in nothing being done except annoying everyone. As for the court systems, I can assure you they are being worked on.

Overall, most of these things just sound like issues that could be resolved in character or with CLs. And from what I've seen, nothing is being done except complaining. Personally, I've changed my playstyle a lot based on what criminals have done to me in character, and it's normally to be more lenient. To say this is all cop sided makes no sense. Coming from a cop, we have endless restrictions we have to follow. And if we don't follow them, we get striked or even fired. There's not much room for us to just do whatever we want because we hate criminals or whatever you think we do. If you have a problem with someone breaking the rules, report them. If you have a problem with an in character issue, find a way to get it changed. The police have a report form, duck already posted about this. You could talk to a judge, a supervisor in PD, an investigator, the possibilities are endless. There's always room for change and there's always paths for change. However, you won't find that path by making a long forum post saying there's an issue. Be the change.

Moving on from that, most of these issues stem from one thing. The server is marked as "serious rp". I don't think it should be a serious RP server. It's clear that almost all the characters would rather have fun to promote RP than be extremely serious. Making it realistic or something else would make much more sense. It would allow for crazier things to be done in the name of RP and would lessen the restrictions. Especially on police. With that change, you would see a lot more ideologies being changed from the police side. Criminals can do whatever they want. They aren't bound by anything except server rules. Police have server rules and then police rules on top of that. Blaming them for not acting a certain way may have more to do with their character than them.

And trust me, you aren't the only one thinking the server is one sided. Everyone thinks that. And it's directly related to whatever side they play the most.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Classic case of when the same people are both judge, jury, and executioner.
You're never going to win in that situation.

You can be mother theresa and provide RP and still catch a perma-ban over one petty thing if its pisses off the wrong people enough.

Even though we didn't get along IC or have many interactions for that matter, Sorry you have felt the need to leave our home city, There are plenty out there though homie - Life goes on.

We are aware that we have our own issues, and we have always been trying to improve RP but tend to get annoyed sometimes, leading to a downfall in this RP. Overall we are just pointing out how we feel currently about the server and the main things that need to change. We believe that it is best that we part from the server, for both sides.

I kindly wish you the best wherever you may end up and hope life treats you well. Its Unfortunate that the ideas and concerns weren't voiced in the proper way but I can assure you that what you said has been heard.
