Bad Company 2 Heavy Metal Server

Our standards give us like-minded regulars. It's more fun that way. :p

And once more a helicopter ruins the game and empties the server , I'm so tired of coming onto our server to see a helo dominating the game , I'm almost to the point of kicking the pilot every time he / she gets in a helo . I don't mind when the server is populated to at least 1/2 capacity , but when there are 6 to 8 players total and none of them can shoot down a helo and they all end up leaving because they are just dying over and over and can't even move from one flag to the other that really annoys me and I end up leaving the server also , just like approximately 20 minutes ago , thought of going in and populating the server because there were 6 players in there already , but instead the helo is just killing anything that moves and the server empties again , for the 100 + times . I wish we could set up some days with no helicopters so the normal players can actually come here and have fun .
I am not on board with your conclusions.

EA is messing everything up. The log in is still messed up and after finally logging in, the eGo server is down or empty. If the server is doing good, we have all kinds of great players, better be on your game. You can not run off good players for the sake of the server being full. Those players do not come back, but us bad ass players do.

ok my 2 cents, I always ask players no heli's if only 4 players normally works, I do agree with major, maybe we can set the respawn for heli's at 5 min
that should help so the teams have a change to move up, we do get a lot of new players that just want's to snipe or just sit back at the first flag that suck, and the scramble still don't work correctly can we please look into that most be something deep, sometimes after a round you'll see 12 players on 1 side and 3 one the other,??
as for xm-m8 I don't see you ever telling players not to base rape, I do see you telling players you're going to play on europa server that's not helping us here
an is advertising for other servers no no no

I play on your server all the time and I am here under an assumed name (nudge, nudge...wink, wink). The biggest issue, bar none, is the EA login. I know it's frustrated me enough that sometimes I don't start up the game even if gameme says the server's not empty.

The other stuff you're talking about is ages old, but imo the people running the place should make the forums a place attractive to noobs/ancient grains where they talk about tactics etc. etc. instead of complaints. Just start random threads about anything related tot he game.. like how to use a particular weapon - guaranteed you'll have people willing to school you because you're wrong, that's where real forum fun comes in. They can't rely on the visitors to do it, they need to do it. Right now it's a one-thread-wonder, and it could be so much better. But I digress...

I play on the other server you're talking about now too. It's alright, even the legal baserape is alright because it doesn't last as long as it does here, and most of all - house rules. You have to fight your way out - it's more realistic in a lot of ways, and only minor whining about it happens, too. It's the way they play there so nobody listens, and where's the fun in that, right?

One thing that I really noticed playing that way was the uneven border between C and the US uncap, and A and the Russ uncap. Tanks shooting from that crest and backing away into don't-touch-me-land always pizzed me off. With the VADS an overpoweringly superior weapon compared to the AA in the Russ uncap, the game would be better served with the US border at the base of the hill instead of the crest. Pure opinion, of course. It's hard to do things different..

scramble is nice point.. it messes beginning of the game, which is the most important part (first B fight)
+ another weird point is rule about english language only. kicking people for speaking own language in times of player shortage..

you are wrong: im actively asking teammates not to baserape (i you have in maul longer chatlogs than one 1 month, you can find it) although i believe its benefitial for the gameplay (new dynamics, survival of the fittest, drives away campers, makes boring stacked games end faster. its like legalized euthanasia).
- i went through chatlog, and i mentioned leaving to europe once in this month on server with 1-2 ppl. it wont happen anymore:)

Hi all,

Here is my opinion in 10 points and sorry for being long :)

1- Major Trubble is right when he talks about the domination of a player with few players on the server and especially when he uses a helicopter!

2- jtipton is right because this player must understand the problem and if it does not suit him, he can always leave or we can help him to do it if he does not understand!

3- XM-M8 is right when it comes to the rules, too many rules kill the gameplay, but the (Official) rules are good and suit most players who have been on our server forever!

4- The problem of the rules is when they are adapted according to the administrators and the players present, the very good players disturb more and more and I find that a pity

5- BFBC2 is near the end, on average 20 servers max are occupied by players and for the most part they are former players of BFBC2 and if the server is empty it is not a problem of rule set up .

6- Very good players are useful and necessary, they increase the quality of the game and allow other players to improve!

7- The players (very good or not) who seek to dominate the game are a real problem especially when the server has few players, but that's part of the game isn't it? no for me!

8- The auto-balance will never be effective because many players change teams as they see fit (some disconnect and come back to be in the team of their choice), I think it is up to the administrators present to do something when too many good players are on the same team!

9- Asking a good player to lower his level, you might as well ask him to leave because it can quickly become boring for him (that's what I do more and more), if he does not try to dominate the game why is this causing a problem !?

10- The eGO server is a great server because it has always brought together a community of players who enjoy playing together or hate each other (in the game of course :) ), and this in part thanks to the rules put in place and the administrators who try to enforce them !!

Good day everyone

well..than try it in a polite way. we all have the same goal - to keep heavy metal server populated. do we?
or, if you are not interrested in buplic opinion, you can move topic into private section.

That is the point , we do care about public opinion , which is why we have the rules in place about respecting other players and letting " all " players enjoy the game when they come to our server , not just a couple or few that dominate the map .

Like I said before, it is out of our hands. I feel fortunate that the EA server has allowed all of us to play for as long as we have. The sever population wasn't as big of an issue like it is now. I do not know if they will fix this issue with the frustrating long in, but I see no incentive for them to do so. I really do believe that support from EA is dead and all severs for this game will be gone within the year. I, like many give up after trying to log in at least twice only to find the server offline or empty (why is the server offline so much?) Oh yea, don't forget, you can play the new state of the art Battlefield on a new video card you can't buy for the foreseeable future. Major, I think you are a great guy, but you can not say we do not care about public opinion and then say we have a rule about respecting other players. Do you not see the hypocrisy?

Wow mercer , I said exactly the opposite of what you said that I posted about public opinion .

Server is not offline, the Menu is not showing the server as an option.

The server being empty partially has to do with EA Login , but the other servers a lot of times have players on them , but not ours , we do have a lot of rules for some players , but sacrificing integrity is not really an option here , sometimes I play on the other servers when ours is empty just to get a few minutes of gameplay in , and it is a hit and miss situation on servers where players are allowed to attack the enemy main base , I must admit that I have never seen foul language in chat on those servers , everybody's too busy trying to protect the uncap most of the time , even when not everybody seems to get along , players can concentrate on the game rather than a bunch of " politically correct " rules .

I like the Heavy Metal server. It's very casual for me. Just right and I tend to be more relaxed on rule enforcement regarding languages. It's easy to look up online "swear words portuguese" or "swear words in dutch". I look for those words and the context within.

I think in large part that the server is more empty lately is because of the EA login. I can't count how many times I launched the game, only to be stopped when trying to log in. I've had times where I couldn't log in 13-17 times in a row. At that point, I give up and do something else. I am sure I am not the only one with this mentality. I give EA 3 attempts to login. If it doesn't work, I don't play the game. EA's fault.

yeah the login is a major problem, anyone know a good email address straight to EA maybe if we all send an email like 200 plus (: something will be done

Last couple of days tried to join, but the EA was a major cockblock. After a number of login attempts, it still wouldn't let me through.

try to do ipconfig /flushdns
in your command prompt. it helped me a bit. now, it connects me immediately or with 1 reconnect.... or maybe i was just lucky last week:)

I forgot about that command. That command often helps with fixing terrible lag when playing online. Not sure how that works. :) Thanks.
