I've been playing a lot of TF2 lately and a majority of that has been in community servers emulating the casual experience due to official being overrun by bots. One thing I've noticed is how a good chunk of these servers have players all throughout the day and players will even queue up to get into the more popular ones. Most of them are either running a completely vanilla map rotation and some use popular community maps, some also run with no random spread/crits.

Players are looking for a casual experience and I think eGO should capitalize on this while the timing to release is good. I know if we had one I would spend my free time on it when I want to play some casual.

Isn't that what we already have? I haven't played in a bit but aren't we just running vanilla maps with fast respawn?

We have single map servers which isn't the same

So you want a rotation?
Yes, but more than just a rotation of a few maps but the majority of official payload, cp, and koth maps. Alongside things like random crits. As if you pulled it straight from normal casual mode. Its what players are looking for at the moment.

we had a rotation payload map that most people liked and changed things up with different maps, however it 'didn't do so well' and was taken down.

I've lost track of how many times we've tried rotation servers and they've flopped.

Up until like a month or two ago I wouldn't have thought it would be a worthwhile pursuit but due to the bots you have people scrambling to find solid servers. Evening and Nights I've been seeing casual type servers dominate the server browsers. You have communities like Creators, Skial, FiTH, EoTL, and Uncletopia having their casual servers maxed out with people queueing up to get in. The market is prime for a good vanilla casual server.

If that’s the case, it would be worthwhile for the community to jump on this. Thanks for going into detail on it.

I will be the first to idle 24/7 on a rotation server but yeah the problem is bringing regulars on said server, since they all go for skial and other servers idk if we would get that much traction...
Good post Para Para

Perhaps, but you need to keep in mind our regulars play on the servers they do because that is their map. The problem with a Payload/Rotation server is it is less fun with fewer people more than any other server. I'm out of commission for but a little while longer, but no, Payload/other gamemodes are best saved for events.

You can't jump the gun on this, the Execs will see us as idiots if we shove this up to the queue only for it to fail again.

The other servers are rising in the ranks and becoming a lot more populated more frequently.
That is enough for now, we can't lose our grounding by making a rash, hair-trigger decision because of a slight shift in the breeze.

I disagree with this idea for the foreseeable future.

We will eventually add another server to our roster, but first we need to get all of our current servers solidly in good positions. They are almost there, so let's keep working on them so we can get that new server.
