We are pleased with the current results of the test week. The development team is continuing to push updates to resolve any ongoing bugs and necessary optimizations. As important as it is to resolve these issues, it is just as important to ensure the economy is well balanced and functional.

We have already heard some feedback in a variety of areas. This could include illegal jobs, legal jobs, shops and other features that involve spending or receiving income. If you have spent some time testing the server, we would love to hear some feedback and suggestions on what should be improved on for the economy. It is important and crucial that these changes go into effect before the launch of the complete server.

Please feel free to comment any suggestions below. We will make sure to read through them all and make the necessary modifications! We look forward to your feedback!

This isn't something that affects the entire economy. However, I feel that the cost to repair your trucks with your trucking company is crazy expensive. Like it gets to the point where it will be more cost-effective to sell it and use that money to buy a new truck when it gets damaged. For example, if you damage your car slightly, you are looking at a $1,540.00 repair for 7.7% damage to a specific part of the truck. To make enough money to repair that, you need to do at least 17 jobs at the maximum beginner range, which is less than 6.0km which pays ~$100.00 each and takes 15-20 minutes and those jobs are rare. It will not be realistically possible to maintain your trucks with the repair cost escalating so viciously.

I've attached photos of my Diagnostic's tab as well as my trucking profile for reference which is accurate as of 12:47 pm EST 5/25/2021. I believe that we should lower the repair cost so as not to bankrupt drivers.

I would like to see this get addressed, I would also like to mention that there has been someone that said that The Trucking Employee he has, has not made a single dollar for him which is a big loss for roughly spending 15k to hire a employee and get them a truck, also the skill points dont work, we cant level up our distance we can travel and we cant take higher quality shipments

Keep them coming! This helps us! Thank you to those who are contributing!

Gas prices, please lower them. To fill up my Police Charger 60% up it cost me 385$ which is about an hour of police paychecks. If it's correct (100$/15 minutes) It would be nice if it was around 2 dollers a liter instead of 6 dollars for a liter.

-Gas station prices are ridiculously high.
-Cocaine/Black USB Drugs pays very little, especially for a high effort high-risk illegal job (Compared to other illegal jobs as well)

-The trucking logistic thing pays too little IMO, at least at higher levels as you have to do a lot of missions to be able to level up. also Costs 15k for a truck. I think the Repair cost should be decreased by a lot, as of now If you damage your truck by 5% it will cost like 700$+ which is at least 7 missions.

I'm not sure about weapons as I think they're supposed to be crafted, but it isn't implemented yet.

- Car prices are too high IMO, especially in the current economy the amount of time needed to get a decent-looking car is kind of insane. I'm not sure if this is finalized or if it will be different once the server releases.

- All of the new criminal stuff is very fun, but some things like the illegal fish pay very low. Also the car theft guy pays very little

EDIT: This one isnt really that much of an economy thing, but basic guides for jobs would help a lot of people out i think

I agree with everything except the car prices. As you can finance a car and don't need to save up to buy the car off in one shot. People shouldn't be expecting to buy a car within their first hour in the city, tbh.

The default non-player owned gas prices being $6/litre is crazy high. Should be dropped to like $1-2/litre.

Trucking logistics job doesn't really have a payout issue - I think the amount is pays is fine but the repair costs on the trucks are insane. The trucks are all roughly 15k and similar, I think having more variety in the trucks cost/benefits would be nice.

Car theft guy really shouldn't be a "I'm going to grind this to make money" type of criminal job. Though, as it stands, having only one location and it's payout being what it is, doesn't seem very worth doing.

I agree, the Trucking Logistics Job does pay fine, its just the fact we cant level up the skills to actually do the worth while trips. And I agree with EchoFX, Car Prices seem to be fine and I enjoy that its so unique and realistic

Like everyone else I’m going to say gas prices are extremely high. $6 a liter translations to about $22.50 a gallon. That’s $18.35 higher than than the average price of gas in LA, California which is about $4.15 a gallon this translates back to about $1.11 a liter. At the same time the money most of us make can barely fill up our cars or work vehicles . If this was the old city where most of us made good money with the jobs gas prices like this would make more sense. I understand gas stations can be player owned, however, there should be some limits to how high they can set it.

gas in canada is like $1.22 a litre

now i know its not 1:1 but that's been talked about enough in this thread

Some stuff should really be buffed like:
  1. Uber stuff as previously mentioned, like 10 bucks is... rough
  2. The car stealing dude [pays like 40 dirty for high ends or something
  3. i don't know how to stop the numbering thing but also the bank truck job is very generous, i think it should be tho if my suggestion regarding increasing the guards/weaponary is applied.

I wasnt aware that they set the prices, that truly does change my opinion, if its owned there shouldnt be a set limit, it makes competition very limited, but if its not owned it shouldnt be $6 a liter

The $6/litre gas stations right now are not player owned. That is the default non-owned station price. It needs to change

For this scenario we are going to assume that we got 4 bricks of meth and we are purchasing baggies for the super cheap price of $5. Im going to list the inputs and outputs of what you expect when you purchase a black USB and select meth for a drug location.

Inputs: Black USB($200 clean),Meth location($60 clean), 40 ziplock baggies($200 clean)
Total input: $460 clean
Outputs: 40 1g ziplock baggies of meth sell between $6-10 each meth 1g. 40*$6/40*$10
Total Output: $240-400 dirty money

If the laundering method stays 1:1, this will mean that you're hoping that you'll be able to come close to breaking even selling drugs. This scenario also isnt entirely fair because you can get less than four bricks of meth, and $5 baggie price is not given for when the city resets. So it is entirely possible that you will be losing around 30-40% of money invested per brick. I wonder if reducing the price of the black USB/drug location + a buff to drug prices would help.(maybe even allow dirty money for payment of the usb+drug locations?)

I know that Im talking about meth above, but I noticed weed was being bought for me as low as $1 dirty per 4 grams of weed. Selling drugs so far seems smooth and enjoyable, but i would like a little bit of a profit as to most locals here are snitches and call the cops

Businesses might need a nerf as well, they're a big investment so they should definitely be good for money, but i believe theyre quite a bit too overpowered as of now.

Heres what i was able to make from 3 days of having a 100k business.

My input is about the salary that is paid from the Job Center jobs.

1. There are some jobs that pay out $200 every fifteen minutes. From what I know it is shopkeeper and mechanic. That means technically someone who is new can simply AFK and make $800 an hour. I know that it is against the rules to just sit clocked in for a job you are not doing, but that is not stated anywhere so from a new players perspective they will think that it is fine. Also, from someone who used to play on the old server, it was normal to just collect a salary, even when not doing the job (chickens, trucking, tailor, etc.). I think there should be a sign somewhere in the Job Center that says that you will be fined if you are found to be clocked into a job while not actively doing it. Just a random suggestion off the top of my head.

2. There are some jobs that are listed in the Job Center which I feel like should not be. Mechanic and shopkeeper are two of the jobs that are OP because they pays $200 salary, yet the mechanic shops and markets will be mostly player owned, and will hire their employees (to my understanding). So to me, it does not make sense to be able to pick that job, and clock in, at the job center. Also, fishing and mining are not at the job center, yet these are the two only real jobs that do not require being hired by someone. I figured this means they should be in the job center. Fishing currently is definitely not worth the money since the fish pay so little, so adding a salary to it would be a nice buff.

There was something else I wanted to bring up but I cannot think of it at the moment. All of this is my opinion and I am happy to talk about it in voice chat sometime if someone wants to have a discussion.

I only have one opinion on the economy. Since, it's going to take several of us a week or more to get a vehicle, can we add in a car rental function? I'm making this suggestion because I don't see a way for civilians to have a decent quality of life, and keep a clean record without this option.
