Achievement farming

Is it still against the rules? cuz ive seen a lot of people on the ego servers farming the achivements, admins included, asking people to just stand around and let them get the achievements.

Farming is not allowed on any of our public servers. If you see blatant farming please message an admin so they can come take care of it.

Farming is not allowed in the public servers but it is allowed during private eGO events. If you see a player farming send a message to the admin but if you see an admin farming then PM an advisor/council member. If an admin finds a member farming then they are to ban or kick and request a ban so that it can be dealt with. This is not going away as long as Valve continues to add new content so it is not worth getting dropped from eGO for a stupid achievement.

Wow, guys remember it is awful hard to actually farm the pyro stuff except on a closed server where EVERYONE can work together.

On our public servers, pyros going out and actually trying to kill the other team isnt farming. WHile we may not like the fact that there are alot of pyros on a team it doesnt mean its farming. The content is new and people want the weapons. This will happen with EVERY SINGLE UPDATE, so either get used to it and if it bothers you that much just take a few days off and it will slow down and then come play again.

While killing the other team is hard, I have seen people try to farm (friends on opposite teams) the medic achievements on Convoy... it was taken care of quickly by the admin when I let him know about it... so impossible, no... unlikely... yes... just kill them! and then let the admin know :lol:

There are too many places to farm for this to even be an issue to discuss... the only weapon I like is the flare gun... there is just something fun and silly about it...

WE were playing this morning and a pubber wanted to organize a farming expedition and while most of us were pyro at the time, we made sure to explain to him that we're not going to organize a farming event in the server because it would ruin the casual gameplay and while it's okay to be a pyro and go out and kill some people to try and get the achievements it is not okay to try and run the entire server that way. Eventually more people joined and the classes redistributed themselves so it all worked out well and the pubber understood with our concise explanations.

The only good thing about the pyro achievements is that quite a few of them make the pyro useful to the team, burning spies, reflecting rockets, finishing enemies with your shotgun...there are some that make the pyro do weird things...but it's nothing like the medic ones.

Want to farm? Go to an achievement server, just filter servers so only ones starting wit pyro come up, dont farm in eGO servers, the servers are for fun not for farming.

If eGO really wanted a farming server they could make one...but they have not so dont go asking for someone to be a spy and taunt with their cigarrette for your achievement in eGO servers.
