-Now, I understand that I'm only an =(e)= and have little or no say about what goes on in our servers, but I have a couple ideas on things that might get some players to notice our sponsors. What if we took all of the maps that our servers ran, and placed advertisements in locations that would catch players eyes, or would be hard not to see. I know that players would have to download all the new maps to play on our servers if we did this, but that is a one time thing. After they have downloaded the fixed map, they wont have to do it again. Players would then see these adds and vwala, more people begin to visit Saitek and Cyber Power PC alot more because of it.
-Another idea I had was to use the first page you see with the server rules as another source of advertising before or as the rules are displayed. Thats a spot that shows up right in front of the players face! Although most players just start playing when the game has loaded (guilty), I have read the rules page once or twice and I think it would be cool to have the URLs to our sponsor's websites or their names at the very least there.
-The final idea I had was some if not most of the clan members taking participation in the advertising process and changing their sprays to something that would promote our sponsors. This could also be the solution to not wanting to mod the maps. They could be placed ANYWHERE in the maps and the sprays could also be used in CS:S.
-The reason I have made this post is because the only ways that I see that we are supporting or sponsors are by placing there ads on our website and the in-game pop-ups that show up every minute or so. Both of which are good ideas, but 1) A lot of players that play on our servers aren't going to visit our site to see our sponsors, and 2) If your being chased across a map by a pyro, your not going to notice text popping up at the bottom of your screen, are you? The ideas mentioned above get around these problems and bring the ads straight to the players of #1 TF:2 Servers in the world.
