Hello gamers!
As we all are gamers, who doesn't like when the games are free!
What I suggest is real simple!
In discord, there are servers that exist solely for curating and notifying when a marketplace graces us with those sweet free games! Other discord servers may also curate some of these sweet deals while not their sole focus, but are trustworthy sources Such as the PC Master Race discord, which has an announcement channel dedicated to posting free games from the major providers.
What I propose is simple: a read-only channel labeled #free-games, that receives posts from other Discord's announcement channels for free games, such as PCMR. We could create a reaction role that can give people access to go the channel.
We already do this from time to time, this is a simple and harmless addition that would simply extend offers to the entire community and be just one more awesome way to support our gamers with free stuff! Best of all, completely autonomously!
These services do not ping everyone or here, so they shouldn't even need moderation! But in any case, wouldn't be nothing but a thing for a manager to check the channel every now and again to ensure quality.
Overall this would likely take no more than an hour or two to find some reliable sources, set up the channel, test, and make public.
As this is not something of urgency or something more than a quality of life thing, it doesn't have to be done any time soon, or be added to the top of the queue. Something to add when we can.
