Greetings,

Suggestion is to add a requirement stating that admins SHOULD say "on it" or something alike when they take the players report.

And when it's handled they SHOULD say "handled" or something alike when the report is handled.

This will be more professional, players will spend less time in admin chat reporting same stuff 5 times because admins can't type 2 words and admins will spend more time happy because of less spam.

When doing trainings I always emphasized that communication is probably the most important task when admining. Always letting the person reporting AND the person being reported know what's going on. But, as stated by other admins/managers, reports are quite hectic and can be a lot for a single person to handle - meaning that some things will fall through the cracks.

A "ticket" system in-game to report/handle reports could be beneficial. Honestly though, in TTTs (and jailbreaks) current state, it doesn't seem too relevant. Not only do we get a lot of reports, but they are also time-sensitive. If you don't handle a report within the same or the following round, it has pretty much reached its expiration date.

I do very much wish for a menu based/ticket system for TTT reports, it could make things faster. Although the implementation of it will be complicated and hard to do right, if it even gets approved for that matter.

Playing around with the idea, how would it be implemented to make it faster than doing it manually?

i think it can work, because when i ever played Gmod on a Star wars RP server for 2 years, and when i was just admining there, everytime someone reported there will be a ticket pop up that you can choose to take or not, if its in a menu then we could do !mticket and press on the ticket, the reporting player had sent in, and it will give an automatic pm saying that the admin is on it. and after we are done with it we would do !mticket (name) closed then it will send out it has been handled, i dont really think its faster as im writing this anyway

From my 5 minutes of thinking. When a player dies, a menu pops up (or a chat message) asking whether they want to report it (idea from GMod). If it gets reported, something pops up in chat for all admins, then the admin can use some command to claim the ticket (automatically tells other admins they got it) (might need to use ticket IDs or maybe just the reporting player name), then a menu pops up for the admin that automatically shows damage logs for the player, ID logs, previous warnings, and other relevant information. They can press a button on their keyboard to automatically send the 3x sequence of messages interrogating the player. Those messages get automatically sent every 20s or something, and if after X time they don't respond, they automatically get kicked (admins doing this manually is a pain in the ass and easy to forget about). Whenever they respond, the ticket ID will be attached to their response and the admin can open up the menu again with all the information (so they don't forget), then deal with it from there. The admin can choose to manually question (then they can open the admin actions menu later), finish (do nothing), warn them (official warning that's logged), kick them, or other (so they can ban manually). Once the final action is chosen, it notifies the player it was dealt with.

This only deals with the start and finish of reports "automatically", the middle part involving asking players and stuff will still be the old system with admins doing it manually. With some additional help (commands that can give context, such as damage logs, ID logs, previous warnings, player stats, what they were reported for, etc).

Of course the normal admin chat method is still able to be used, this is just to help with RDM reports.

this seems to be the general idea of why people are against it. But is this not a reason even more to have this? This ensure reports are looked at, and players are aware when an admin may miss things. I agree that being a solo admin on TTT or JB can be crazy hectic. A lot of the time, I miss reports, and unfortunately, I can't do anything because, by the time I can get to it, it's gone. If this happens, players would be able to actually know if their report was missed, and could rereport it to ensure it's seen. This takes literally 2 seconds out of an admins time as this wouldn't be "Oh you have to respond to every one" No, its just, oh hey I'm taking this report, let me take an extra 2 seconds to respond "@@Username Hey, I'm looking into it!". This furthers transparency between admins and players and can create a more friendly environment between the two. Thus fostering a better server experience for players and admins alike.
